You might have the Nintendo Switch or the OLED Switch and plenty of stellar games to play. Signing up for Nintendo Switch Online will allow access to multiplayer games and a collection of classic Sega Genesis, Classic Nintendo 64, SNES, and other perks. While the higher tier is expensive, it provides free access to games like Deluxe Booster of Mario Kart 8 and New Horizons of Animal Crossing.
The N64 line-up also expects Mario Golf on 15 April, whereas NES and SNES libraries have already expanded with Dig Dug 2, Mappy-Land, and Earthworm Jim 2 in a few days. The subscription service enables you to trade with fellow trainers in Pokemon Legends and challenge your friends to play Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8. You can also benefit from cloud backup for the game data and get access to the phone version of the Nintendo Switch.
How much Nintendo Switch Subscription Costs
Nintendo Switch subscription will cost you $4 per month. You can pay $8 for 3-month usage and $20 for a year. The family plan is also available for $35, allowing you to make eight separate accounts for households, access cloud saves, and use NES & SNES collections with other features for twelve months.Â
Aside from the above, Nintendo Switch Online subscription Expansion Pack will give you access to an expanded collection of games. They include Happy Home Paradise and Genesis, and N64. Nintendo’s expansion pack is costlier than its primary subscription. You will need to pay $50 for an individual membership for a year, whereas a family plan membership is available for $80. The Expansion Pack is only available for a one-year subscription.
Are There Any Restrictions Included in Nintendo Switch Online Family Subscription?
Nintendo Switch Online Family subscription allows you to make a group of eight separate accounts across various Switch systems. It gives every individual an opportunity to use all the features of Switch Online without any restrictions.Â
The subscription holder will be able to set up all the accounts and pay the subscription charges. They will also serve as the administrator and guardian and can add or remove individuals to and from the subscription plan. However, the administrator account has no control over other subscription accounts, and anyone can leave whenever they want. They will only have to get back to an active single-account subscription or sign up for a new one.Â
The administrator can set other accounts as ‘supervised’ in the Nintendo Switch family plan, giving them restricted e-Shop purchases and reviewing sign-in history. On the other hand, the Nintendo Switch Expansion Pack tier does not have any restrictions on family plans, and it will work as same as it does on the primary subscription.Â
Classic Nintendo Games
As mentioned earlier, Nintendo Switch Subscription allows you to access a collection of old NES, SNES, N64, and Genesis games. Its system-specific apps let you download from the e-Shop, which is the only way to use digital versions of Nintendo games after the closure of e-Shops of WiiU and 3DS in 2023.Â
