Meta plans to test numerous new tools and features, which will enable creators to try out diverse ways to monetize what they are already making in the Horizon Worlds. The company is committed to supporting creators. As a part of that ongoing commitment, Meta is launching new tools as a trial with a limited number of creators to obtain their valuable feedback. The tech firm believes launching these tools is the first step toward its long-term vision for the Metaverse, where creators feel empowered to make money. Of course, this step will also encourage people to buy digital products and services and enjoy diverse experiences.
The Meta-verse does not have limited physical space. It will lead to new creative levels and produce fresh opportunities for upcoming creators and businesses to practice their passions and generate a source of revenue. They can freely find a business model that will suit their earning requirements and work wonders. Therefore, Meta excitedly took this step, expanding further on the Horizon Creator Fund with $10 million. The company announced this fund in October last year and has been using it to offer creators of Horizon Worlds the necessary resources. It plans to continue working with its creator community, test, and learn more.Â
Meta will begin rolling out a test with a handful of creators that will allow them to sell virtual goods and effects within their horizons. For instance, a creator could create and sell hook-on fashion accessories or provide paid access to a new place on the earth. The Horizon Worlds has purchasing items available to people aged 18 and above in the United States and Canada, where the service is currently accessible. Creators selling virtual goods will be able to observe a Commerce tab and Gizmo when they are in Create Mode to create purchasable things.
Besides introducing in-world purchases, Meta will test a Bonus Program for Horizon Worlds Creator for its contestants in the United States. These bonuses are goal-oriented programs. They pay the creators for their progress toward the goal at the end of the month. The best part is that creator bonuses have no fees, and creators will get them in full. Currently, this limited test will reward the creators for creating worlds that can be a focus for the most time spent, though Meta may evolve these goals over time to encourage creators to embrace new features rolled out by the company.Â
Creator participants of any monetization program, including creator bonuses and in-world purchases, need to follow all of the Meta policies for Horizon World. They must be aware of VR Policy and pay attention to Prohibited Content Policy so that they can be eligible for earnings. Participants should submit a report for Meta to review if they find any content in Horizon Worlds violating the policies.Â
Although Meta’s new in-world purchases and creator bonuses are available for testing with a small number of creators, the company aims to continue rolling out more features and supports for all creators that are making efforts to build new worlds easier.
