Overview
When new phones are released in the mainstream and mid-range segments, Xiaomi and Realme are two well-known companies that frequently take over the headlines. It’s simple to ignore the smaller players, who occasionally have extremely fascinating products, because of how quickly large brands are releasing new ones. One of them is the Infinix Zero 5G since, as far as I’m aware, it’s the only smartphone under 20,000 rupees that has a telephoto camera with a 2X optical zoom. Additionally, the Zero 5G is the business’s first 5G product. It made its debut in February 2022 and sports a solid feature mix.
Specifications and Software
For the Zero 5G, Infinix chose a fairly potent SoC. A more current and power-efficient chip, the MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC, can be found in more expensive smartphones as the OnePlus Nord CE 2 and Oppo Reno 6. (Review). This SoC in the Zero 5G supports dual-5G standby and a total of 13 5G bands. It could be wise to pay special attention to this for your future purchase now that we are more certain of when we can realistically anticipate 5G in India. LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, which seem to be uncommon in this price range, are also claimed to have been utilised by Infinix.
The typical sensors and satellite navigation systems are supported by the Infinix Zero 5G. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 are included. The phone has FM radio but lacks stereo speakers and an official IP rating. With a very sizable 5,000mAh battery, the Zero 5G should last at least all day, if not longer.
Operating System
The XOS 10 modified Android skin by Infinix, which is still based on Android 11, is used on the Zero 5G. Although it won’t be available until August 2022, Infinix has already promised to releasing the Android 12 update.
Performance and battery life of the Infinix Zero 5G
The Infinix Zero 5G is not an awful phone to live with once you get over the minor UI idiosyncrasies of XOS. If you’re a neat freak, it’s advised to avoid this black colour because it’s quite tough to keep fingerprints off of it. According to images, the colours blue and orange should be more forgiving. The Zero 5G’s display gets incredibly bright, making it possible to use it outside even in direct sunshine. Unless you activate one-handed mode, this phone’s size makes it tough to operate comfortably with one hand.
Infinix Zero 5G’s camera
The Infinix Zero 5G’s telephoto camera is a major talking point because it distinguishes it from other smartphones in its class. The camera has an f/2.46 aperture, autofocus, and a 13-megapixel sensor. It has a high zoom lens of 30X and a 2X optical zoom capability.
Pre-Installed apps
Numerous preloaded applications have a propensity to fill your notification shade with unwanted warnings. Additionally, several of the programmes, such AHA Games, Palm Store, Hi Browser, InSync, etc., are unnecessary and cannot be removed. The battery consumption graph and other common options are excessively hidden under menus, making them difficult to access unless you utilise the search tool.
