Google Hangouts will be discontinued in November
Google has announced this week that anyone using Hangouts software will be relocated to Chat instantly. Those who use Hangouts just on the web via Gmail will be told to change to Chat late next month. Hangouts, on the other hand, will continue to be available just on the desktop sites until December, with Google’s strategic plan to notify users ahead of time. Google Hangouts for Workstation users was canceled earlier in the year.
This will not strike me as a notably disruptive event. There will be plenty of forewarning, and the transformation from Hangouts to Chat would seem to be fairly smooth.
The most popular job-search applications are at an all-time high
By the most latest Apptopia data, the top 7 job hunting engines already saw an increase in usage since March. Annualized, the average amount of daily users increased by even more than half (57%) in the previous month. The top 3 apps for job searches, according to the research, are ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn, and Indeed ZipRecruiter, which has seen a 37 percent growth in daily users this year.
With over 11 million job vacancies, it should not come as a shock. The Great Abdication continues, and friendly staff to use job hunting platforms and see what’s available there. As a company, you should rely on some of the more famous choices as well. However, do not doubt the capacity of referring potential employees to your staff and others you know. It is the most common way for companies to find talent.
With a different price proposal for smaller companies, OneDirectory enters the SMB industry
This week, OneDirectory, a going-to-lead operating system provider, launched new retail prices for its worker directory trying to offer for smaller companies. For business owners with 100 or fewer employees, the startup plan would cost $79 per month. OneDirectory usually served bigger companies. However, as the firm’s focus has shifted to combination and remote work, it has officially started to accommodate relatively small businesses that require techniques to attach their employees.
Portals like OneDirectory are becoming increasingly popular among many of my smallest clients as a way of creating worker folders, statuses, and organizational charts. It’s a good way to spread internal employee data, particularly in this day and age of remote employees.
