Getting into DSLRs is always difficult since you always want to get a frame that can help you make the most of your overall shooting experience. Not only is it more difficult to find the right type of DSLR for you, but beginner DSLRs are often lacking extra features that can make most photos stand out. The best thing about the Cannon EOS 250D, though, is that it has a collection of some of the best features that you can find in a beginner camera that doesn’t overwhelm you, either. As a whole, this camera has managed to make quite a lasting impression.
Exceptional Build and Handling
One of the first things that really stands out about this camera is the overall build quality, which is unlike anything that you might see in most beginner DSLRs. But along with having a fairly sturdy build, it is a little smaller than some of the other cameras that you can find, especially in its width. However, the stock lens that it comes with does not retract, which makes the camera much longer. The entry-level DSLR is just much more accessible than its mirrorless counterparts.
Another advantage that comes with this more chunky design is that It has a fairly good-sized grip. With a better grip, it is actually a lot easier to hold on to the camera and can even make for a more comfortable shooting experience. It also helps that the grip features a nice rugged material that makes the Canon EOS 250D much easier and better to grip.
While it is obvious that they have put a lot of thought into the overall build of the camera, they did save some money with the viewfinder. More specifically, instead of using a pentaprism in the viewfinder, they use a pentamirror. Even though it is a cheaper alternative, this does not change the results that you can see using it.
Live View is the Star of the Show
Easily one of the best features that they currently have at their disposal is the Live View screen, which offers newcomers the chance to accurately see the type of picture that they are taking. As you change the ISO, shutter speed, or F-stop, you can see the effects clearly on the screen. Of course, the live view also makes it so much easier for people to record their videos in High definition.
The live view even offers much better autofocusing speeds than the original viewfinder. So you can now feel more at ease when you are taking pictures.
Is it Worth the Price?
Despite being a camera for beginners, the Canon EOS 250D is a little on the pricier side. While it is a little more expensive than some of the beginner-friendly DSLRs, it is also more expensive than some beginner-friendly mirrorless cameras as well. These mirrorless cameras can be a great addition to any photographer’s arsenal since they can offer a range of features that makes them so much more fun to use.
It does have a sturdy body, along with being much lighter than some other DSLRs. On the other hand, this camera does have a much smaller dial on its interface, and everything is a little more squished together to account for the smaller size. In general, the best thing about these types of cameras is that they are affordable, and they can help people get accustomed to DSLRs. But if the beginner model is about the same price as some of the mid-range devices, then you should maybe look into getting a different camera.
Conclusion
The Canon EOS 250D is a fairly good starter DSLR, with the only downside to it being that it is a little overpriced. Considering the features that you are getting with this camera, some mirrorless cameras can be a better alternative.
