TikTok reveals the roundup of the best content of 2022, including aka’s Corn Kid, chocolate giraffe, and chewing gum by Rosalia. It shows a significant drop in view count as it goes smaller than in the past. The FYFaves list of the video hosting service has videos with millions of views, representing the most viral clips on the platform.
The list seems to be organized and does not have other content with a high level of user engagement. Therefore, it may not represent the best-performing videos on Tik Tok in 2022.
TikTok has emerged as one of the most popular apps over a couple of years. The FYFaves list gives some insight into successful content on the platform. It also offers views on the top spots that seem to have gone downward for some time now.
The US users find a pastry chef’s video with a piece of piano music in the top spot with over 308 million views. This clip slowly constructs a giant chocolate-made giraffe statue with its gentle melody playing over the span. It received 314 million in total.
The top spot in 2021 was a dancing video with a drone, which got approximately 314 million views. In comparison to these videos, ‘M to the B, the famous lip-syncing of Bella Poarch, was the top shot of 2020 with more than half a billion views. On the other hand, @chipmunksoftikto claimed the no.2 video in 2022 and last year as a recurring appearance.
While the best content on TikTok has dropped in view count, it does not necessarily indicate declining user interest in its videos. The list of the top ten videos of TikTok in 2022 contains the ones with hundreds of millions of views. Many clips uploaded on the video hosting services notched a similarly high number of user views though they did not make their place on the list.
The omitted TikTok videos are as interesting as those that are on the list. Surprisingly, it misses the videos of this year’s most-followed celebrity on TikTok, Khaby Lame, who is nowhere in the FYFaves report. The app did not tell how it chose top video shots of the years – for instance, what makes a video with hundreds of millions of views bumping over another or how the app measures “trending” videos among uploaded content.
The TikTok list presenting the most memorable moments of the year has many clips you have seen and enjoyed on the app. Squishy of @chipmunksoftiktok, giant chocolate giraffe of @amauryguichon, and chewing gum meme of rosalia are on the list of top TikTok videos. “Jiggle Jiggle of @blondebrunetteredhead, “baby” of @little.blooming.women’s baby, the remix of “Corn Kid” of @schmoyoho, and “About Damn Time” of @lizzo’s choreography are other notable content in the report.
Some videos like chocolate maker on the list might catch you off guard. Many users have never heard of this TikToker. Likewise, the clip of the “Jiggle Jiggle” video has a low-energy and inevitably viral sound. It also has never appeared on FYP. Most users use a different version of TikTok, dysfunctional use trying to make a list of the top content to represent the video hosting service as a whole.
