Mark Zuckerberg said Facebook has also begun gradually increasing default end-to-end encryption for the instant messaging app. The company knows people need a space to connect and want safe, secure, and private conversations over the apps. As mentioned earlier, Facebook announced the rollout of new features that users will like in Messenger. These features will cater to end-to-end encrypted chats, such as custom chat emojis & reactions, chat themes, link previews, and group profile photos. These include:
- Chat ThemesÂ
Many users feel tired of plain dull backgrounds. They can eliminate boring chat backgrounds by setting themes, including gradient compositions and static colors. Facebook has added chat themes to let users personalize and boost their chats in end-to-end encrypted conversations on Messenger.
- Active StatusÂ
Facebook Messenger will allow you to show your contacts your active status. The feature lets them know the most appropriate time to be in touch with you. Users can also turn this feature off to enhance their privacy.
- Link PreviewsÂ
Mark Zuckerberg said the company has recently recreated link previews for end-to-end encrypted conversation to allow users to see where the given link is directing them before they click on it.
- Custom Chat Emoji Reactions
You may want to personalize your response during chats on Facebook Messenger. The instant messaging app has a full menu comprising emoji reactions and modifies the fast reaction set in end-to-end encrypted conversations.
- Group Profile PhotosÂ
Facebook added a group profile photos feature, allowing you to select images for numerous chats or colleagues.
- Bubbles on AndroidÂ
Bubbles look like a circle and appear around your friend’s image. They allow you to read and respond to messages while using other apps. Facebook Messenger will pop up a bubble when you receive a new message after you have turned it on the app.
