A mid-range Android tablet, the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro targets the prospective buyers of iPad 10.2 or iPad 10.9, who would prefer to have a slightly bigger screen. Lenovo has certainly not messed with any of the elements and it does quite a decent job, but some might consider its price a bit too close to the iPad 10.9 for it to be worth it.
Design and build
If you look at the Tab P11 Pro at arm’s length, you will find that it certainly looks the part, but it cannot give you the same feeling that you will get when you take a look at iPad Air. While Lenovo describes the build of the tablet as a combination of magnesium alloy, PC and PMMA, it feels like plastic. Nonetheless, it manages to look quite good, but it will not feel the same way as real glass or aluminum.
Nonetheless, the tablet is just 6.8mm thick and weighs 480g, which means it is quite light. Plus, it looks really smart because it boasts a two-tone finish, which means one side looks shinier than the rest. But, the real highlight are the speakers, as there are four JBL-branded drivers that you can find on the Tab P11 Pro. Their bass power and projection outclass every competitor, making it excellent for movies and games.
The Tab P11 Pro also comes with a keyboard accessory that you can purchase, which will help it function like a laptop. This is a bit reminiscent of Microsoft Surface, but it functions a bit differently because the tablet does not boast its own stand.
Screen and stylus
The screen of the Tap P11 Pro is its major highlight, as it stands at 11.2 inches, making it quite large. The OLED panel boasts a resolution of 2560 x 1536 pixels and an aspect ratio of somewhere around 16:9. Thus, its pixel density is very much like the iPad and it looks very smooth. It also has excellent contrast and color and the 120Hz refresh rate also does wonders for it.
The Precision Pen 3 stylus is supported by Lenovo’s tablet, but you have to buy it separately, as it is not included. The stylus charges wirelessly, as it comes with a battery, and using it feels quite good.
Battery life and camera
There is an 8000mAh battery in the Lenovo P11 Pro and it lasts quite a while, even when you are playing video. If you are playing 3D games, the battery will last you for about 5.5 hours, which is certainly impressive.
When it comes to cameras, you will find that it has a single 13Mp rear camera that comes with a flash and a front camera of 8Mp. These are a bit lacking because there is no software stabilization and night images don’t look too good.
Verdict
You will find that the Lenovo P11 Pro Gen 2 is a great Android tablet that is quite powerful, but it will still struggle to step out of the shadow of the iPad. Nevertheless, it comes with lots of good stuff to appreciate for anyone who is looking for a decent and not too-expensive tablet.
