WhatsApp users could not transfer chat between iOS and Android unless the instant messaging app got an updated feature to ease the process between the diverse operating systems in July last year.
Like every tech, Meta welcomes more options and has already put them in the process, according to a WABetaInfo report.
New Option to Back up Chat History
The latest WhatsApp beta version has received a new option in its chat settings. It allows users to shift their chat history from one Android device to another while involving Google backup. The new feature can come in handy for users looking to quickly move their active chats to a new device without considering the updated cloud backup.
The option to get your chats backed up to Google Drive continues to exist. It is unlikely that no new function will replace this option for the time being. While both options are not mutually exclusive, WhatsApp users looking to keep their chats saved can use them as their best bet.
Presently, there is no clue about when the feature will roll out to WhatsApp’s live versions, though experts are glad to see the new life quality improvements are in the pipeline.
Other WhatsApp Updates are Underway
WhatsApp is also about rolling out wholesome updates, including the outline of proxy support for global users. The Meta-owned company has also added the option to have more than one WhatsApp accounts on a single phone for its Beta version. It is also testing the picture-in-picture mode for users owning iOS devices.
WhatsApp has slowly made its various plans to become appreciated while aiming to do its best in 2023. Users are satisfied to see many core-audience plans introduced by the company catering to their feedback.
Last year, the Meta-owned company unveiled many new features, including features and security updates. It made the instant messaging platform a better user interface with more security. However, this is not all WhatsApp needs to grow, adapting to user requirements with the growing technology.
The platform plans to bring some more worthwhile and much-needed options in 2023, including the new chat move feature.
As WhatsApp announced many new features in the last few months, it also allows users to save disappearing chats as ‘Kept Messages’. The company aims to meet users’ needs to make their experience better. Users can utilize the feature to keep disappearing messages safe for everyone to see.
The abovesaid feature will work even after the expiry of the message time. Users will still notice a visual mark to such a message to isolate them from regular communication. Disappearing messages are the ones that a user can send in one-on-one or group conversation that instantly disappears or expire from every connected device after the set time duration.
The new ‘Kept Messages’ will enable users to manage disappearing messages in the chat. While the feature will keep appearing in the chat, users can disappear at any time. If they choose to do so, everyone in the group or one-on-one conversation will get the message deleted.
