DoorDash, a delivery company’s app, has reportedly updated its features for the iOS version. These include a message prompt for one-tap replies and a reduced notification feature that will request customers to avoid sending riders texts while on a trip.
The updated DoorDash iOS app will shrink the number of notifications to delivery partners when they are on the route. Instead, online riders will receive a few necessary notifications like a change in the delivery address, customer messages, or reassigning of an order if a trip times out. The DoorDash app will mute other notifications that delivery partners can view after reaching their destinations.
Updated Feature for iOS-based DoorDash App
The delivery company has introduced a new feature to each rider worldwide through iPhones. It plans to expand the new feature to the DoorDash app for Android-based devices.
The delivery app will also notify customers via a prompt that will request them to avoid messaging delivery individuals when they are on driving. DoorDash does not show customers if the rider is currently on the way, though the prompt will ask users to be mindful, saying their Dasher may be driving and may respond later.
DoorDash will also pilot a one-tap message system for delivery people. The new system will enable riders to get Gmail’s Smart replies like prompts, such as “I am waiting for your order”. Remember, Uber launched a similar response system for its drivers in 2018.
More Features Added to DoorDash
DoorDash has also introduced a simple method of declining the placed order with fewer taps. Moreover, it will let delivery partners not take an order by waiting for the timer of the order acceptance to end.
Delivery partners new to the platform can benefit from a demo delivery feature to better comprehend the required services. They can learn the responsibilities from accepting the order to delivering it and become familiar with the app before entering real-time work practices.
Dashers will go through a short-demo order in their app as a component of their sign-up process. The company has set a better and safer stage for the first dash by demonstrating what customers can expect from the app.
According to DoorDash, its partnership with Cambridge Mobile Telemetric telematics (CMT) provide drivers with access to the DriveWell Go app. It gave active drivers insights into distance traveled, braking, speed, and others while they ride. The company continues to evaluate data from the pilot in the United States so that it can provide feedback to drivers.
Another safety update from DoorDash for riders came out in November 2022 that comprised features like tracking the delivery partner if delivering the product takes longer than expected. The company introduced it as an extension of 2021’s launched app – the SafeDash for riders.
Safe delivery is a growing concern worldwide as many rely on them to get numerous orders. Countries like the U.S. have a few proposals to give delivery people more rights.
