Google announced to put a timetable for the move in September last year. The new announcements reveal that Google Tasks will automatically receive reminders generated in Google Assistant and Calendar apps in May.
Users can manage all tasks made in numerous Google apps from Google Tasks from March onwards. They can also access and create tasks using Google Workspace web applications, including Docs, Chat, Calendar, and Gmail.
After the shift, you would not have to play between tabs to return to your desired windows. For instance, if they want to write a reply to an urgent email, Google allows them to do so by clicking a button to add it to their list of to-do tasks.
Moreover, users could work with Google Assistant to use their voice to create reminders. The platform enables users to separate and manage all these numerous tasks and benefit from the features available in Google Tasks to make various lists and start to-dos. These will pop up in Google Tasks besides those generated in Gmail and other Google apps.
New Features from GoogleÂ
Google task management system makes it simple to see everything in one place and brings it with Microsoft’s To-Do app known for integrating tasks across Teams, Planner, and Outlook. The new Google tasks & reminders system has several issues to fix. For instance, users cannot move reminders created in Google’s Keep – a notetaking app notetaking to Tasks.
While they will still be in the Keep app, Google Calendar will not show them up. Likewise, users still feel the lack of handy features offered by other project management apps, including the ability to navigate through the tasks to prioritize them.
Once Google sends prompts to personal accounts, it will lead users to migrate reminders to Tasks from March 2023. However, Google Workspace customers will welcome the feature on 12 April 2023, but only if their organizations continue to have the Tasks services. Users cannot migrate Google Reminders data to Google Tasks if the organizations have turned the services off. It will begin deleting Reminder data after mid of June.
Accordingly, Google encourages administrators to double-check before time and edit Search and Assistant settings for users, allowing them to continue to employ Assistant to organize tasks after moving. Google Takeout users can transfer Assistant & Calendar reminders.
Furthermore, Google Meet unveiled a 360-degree virtual background. Users will be able to use these backdrops for their video calls on smartphones through its gyroscope to move with them. It means the environments of the video call will change according to the device position, and as you change your position, so does your background.
