Microsoft has launched Teams Premium, packed with numerous features, including an Intelligent recap feature powered by OpenAI. Users will soon have the latest premium version of Microsoft Teams to benefit from automatically generated notes and tasks through the intelligent recap feature.
Thanks to GPT 3.5. the feature will automatically generate the highlights of the video conferences alongside custom meeting templates, branded meetings, and watermarking-like features to ensure better protection for meeting insides.
The company expects users to pay a $7 monthly introductory price to peep into the new feature and its usefulness. It is worth mentioning that the app will cost users $10 per month after 30 June 2023.
AI-Powered Intelligent Recap – The Most significant Addition Â
While Microsoft Teams Premium comprises several handy features, Intelligent recap is the most significant addition to the app. The AI-powered tool employs the GPT 3.5 model of OpenAI to make minutes and notes of the meetings even in your absence from the conference.
The Intelligent Recap feature makes it easier to catch up when employees are out of the office or in diverse time zones. It makes mentions, notes, and a full meeting transcript available for future reference.
Users can also see what each speaker has contributed through a well-ordered timeline of chapters and topics. If a participant mentions your name in a meeting, the app will notify you through personalized timelines markers, allowing you to see the matter of the discussion. While the Microsoft Teams Premium app already has the most Intelligent Recap features, the company will release some in the second quarter of 2023.
Teams Feature Included in the Premium Version
Microsoft has also taken several Teams features to make them exclusively available for its Premium version. These include Together Mode scenes, translated captions, and a few virtual appointment tools, which users won’t find outside of Microsoft Teams Premium.
Existing Teams users can use live translated captions for a 60-day grace period, whereas virtual appointment tools will be available for a month. Microsoft Teams Premium has other features, including Advanced Meeting Protections, that might be more attractive to businesses.
The protection tool consists of some safeguards, such as watermarking and labeling sensitive content throughout conferences or restricting users from copying text from the chat and recording meetings. Microsoft claims these features can come in handy in keeping discussions private or deterring leaks. Webinars are also a part of Microsoft Teams Premium, which allows businesses to host events with customizable starting and ending times, virtual green rooms, and registration waitlists.
The inclusion of the GPT 3.5 model of OpenAI in Microsoft Teams Premium comes after the company expanded its OpenAI corporation through multibillion-dollar investment. Microsoft plans to include ChatGPT AI-powered chatbot in Bing. It might also add OpenAI tech to Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
Microsoft Teams Premium first came as a 30-day trial pack in December last year. It worked as a preview of the features accessible today. The company has made the subscription available to all businesses for an introductory price of $7 per month.
