Following the debut of two new ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit)Â Â bitcoin mining rigs by Bitmain, the producer of mining equipment Microbt has also announced the launching of two new miners. At the recent bitcoin 22 conferences in Miami, Microbt debuted its new Whatsminer M50 series, which delivers speeds as fast as 126 (TH/s).
Custom 5nm Chip Designs for Producing up to 126 TH/s
The most modern machines released by Bitmain and Microbt show that next-generation mining rigs pack a tonne of hashpower. They are an incredible demonstration of how powerful bitcoin miners have become. As previously reported by Bitcoin.com News, Bitmain will soon release mining equipment with hash rates of up to 255 TH/s.
The first, the 140 TH/s Antminer S19 XP, was unveiled in November 2021. The second, the Antminer S19 Pro+ Hyd., has a maximum hashrate of 198 TH/s. In addition, Bitmain unveiled the Antminer S19 XP Hyd., a hydro ASIC device that the company claims can produce a staggering 255 TH/s.
The company anticipates shipping the most recent series of Whatsminer ASIC bitcoin mining rigs under the Microbt brand by the third quarter of 2022. The effectiveness of Microbt is higher than the latest production mining devices. That said, they may not be as powerful as Bitmain’s most recent models.
At the Miami conference, Microbt showcased the most recent Whatsminer M50 series. The top machine from the business has a fully bespoke chip design and 126 TH/s of computational processing capacity. The business adds that the Whatsminer M50S consumes 3,276 watts of power and has a 26 joules per terahash (J/TH) power efficiency rating (W).
The 5nm process used in the full-custom chip design outperformed the company’s previous bitcoin miner, the M30S++ (110 TH/s). Microbt also alluded to a hydro-cooling mining setup during the introduction that will generate “240 TH/s of computational power at 29 J/TH of power efficiency.” However, the Whatsminer website of the manufacturer does not feature or sell that Whatsminer M53 equipment anymore.

The Available Mining Rigs
The two most recent Whatsminer M50 series rigs are priced at $8,857.80 for the M50 (114 TH/s) and $10,924.20 for the M50S (126 TH/s), respectively. For reference, a 110 TH/s mining rig will generate around $10.48 in BTC profits each day using the current BTC exchange rates and $0.12 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of power.
According to recent data, the two new machines will bring in better profits at the current BTC pricing. Microbt stated that it is prepared to assist new bitcoin mining regions, such as North America. According to the company’s news announcement, “Microbt is capable of producing and exporting over 30,000 pieces per month from its production location in Southeast Asia this year.”
