WhatsApp has reputedly begun working on more exciting features. These include scheduling calls on the version of the instant messaging app. It will notify the group members of the call schedule and when it begins.
WABetaInfor – The feature tracker reveals the messaging app allowed users to benefit from scheduled calls with the same group members. WhatsApp efforts for enabling users to transcribe voice notes are now visible after months. However, users can make the transcription on the recently released smartphones for the time being, as there is no official announcement from the company about if users could do the same on their laptops or personal computers.
According to WABetaInfor, WhatsApp has developed a new feature that will let you in a group conversation to schedule a call. The new feature is in the development phase, and beta testers cannot use it. However, it could come in handy for group members who have agreed to a specific time to be on the call.
The screenshot showcasing the feature has a new Schedule Call appearing when choosing the call button on the Meta-owned app version 2.23.4.4. Beta compatible with Android devices. Users can tap the option to enter a title, choose a date & time, and schedule the call by tapping the Create button. The image also reveals that WhatsApp will notify users about the scheduled call and when it begins.
Voice Message Transcription
WABetaInfo also highlights WhatsApp’s efforts to allow to transcribe their voice messages. It might remind us of the services the app already had begun working on in 2021. The feature tracker says that the company paused the development of voice message transcription for unknown reasons.
On the other hand, WhatsApp beta version 23.3.0.73 for iOS indicates that the feature may be available for iPhone users with a future update. Another screenshot shared by WhatsApp’s feature tracker reveals a pop-up card with an error message explaining why users cannot access transcripts for a specific message. It notifies the users that they cannot access the transcription because the system cannot recognize the words or they have not set transcripts to the language used in their voice message.
iPhone users spotted the voice transcription feature on their WhatsApp. According to WABetaInfo, the transcription will occur on the user’s gadget. It apparently means that WhatsApp and Apple cannot access users’ voice messages because of end-to-end encryption.
However, some analysts suggest that the transcription feature may need the latest iOS version, and users with the latest iPhone models may have the support for the new feature. It is worth mentioning that WhatsApp is still in the developing phase of these features, and it has not announced its launch date. Since these are beta features, Meta could halt or drop the development of these features, perhaps to favor another feature.
Moreover, WhatsApp has also started testing a new feature, allowing users to share up to hundred images and send high-quality pictures. The beta testers of the instant messaging app on iOS also acknowledged that users can send a larger number of image files in a conversation at one time to several beta testers.
