Apple has launched a new classical music streaming application. The latest music streaming service is available for preorder on Apple’s official site. The tech giant acquired Primephonic – An Amsterdam-based streamer, in 2021, which has led it to launch the new classical music app.
Apple Music subscribers can access over five million classical music songs, including new high-quality audio releases, exclusive albums, curated playlists, and other composer-bios-like features and deep dives on the primary tasks.
Given its display in the latest OS updates revealed to the developers, many tech experts believe the service is near completion. Apple has not announced the exact time or day of the launch of the new music streaming services.
Last week, Apple announced the launch of the classical music streaming app, making it available for preorder on the App Store in the initial phase. It will make the release date public late this month, perhaps on 28 March. The app comprises support for iOS devices with iOS 15.4 or above at the time of launch.
The company has decided to cater to classical music lovers with a separate service. It refers to a differentiator for Apple Music subscription service, but it has distinct features from what Spotify rolled out some days ago. It includes tech-driven features, such as Artificial Intelligence and video-based discovery feeds.
Apple Music – Classical Music Streaming Services
Apple Music Classical will comprise an easy-to-use interface to engage with classical works. You can search tracks using conductors, work, composers, or catalog numbers to find the recording. The music app will stream your favorite songs in high-quality audio and make thousands of recordings available in the company’s spatial audio.
The music app would allow you to dive into the music recordings to see editorial notes regarding the composers and descriptions of their key performances. It will let known composers present their high-resolution digital portraits. Apple commissioned these digital portraits from music artists who designed them using artistic references and color palettes from Apple Notes and the relevant classical period.
The company will make these portraits available for Johann Sebastian Bach, Beethoven, and Frédéric Chopin. The Apple Music service will keep updating the new music in the upcoming days. The tech giant has worked with classical music performers and institutions to provide exclusive content and recordings at rollout. As of the latest updates, users can track news updates about the service and music releases on Apple’s Twitter account.
The tech giant plans to charge no additional money for Apple Music Classical. It has begun shipping it as a component of the Apple Music Subscription plans. The individual account is available for $10.99 per month, whereas the student account has a $5.99 monthly fee. On the other hand, Family plans are accessible for a $16.99 monthly fee.
The standalone Classical Music App will arrive on 28 March. The app specializes in the genre that many people love. Apple aimed to launch a classical-focused app in 2022 but could not meet the target. However, a similar service is about to release as a standalone release in the App Store.
