Amazon Web Services chatbot has now a part of Microsoft Teams. AWS has combined its Amazon Web Services Chatbot in MS Teams to enable business users to interact with available resources within the chat app.
The integration will let enterprise users get notifications about events, including security risks and system health from Microsoft Teams. It also allows them to use command line interface commands to initiate notebooks to address current and potential issues.
Amazon Web Services first showcased its chatbot in 2019 and rolled it out for the general public in 2020. The service makes it easier for IT teams and enterprise development to receive notifications regarding their Amazon Web Service infrastructure resources from within a chat or productivity chat like Slack.
According to Sebastien Stormacq, AWS’s principal developer advocate, using Amazon Web Service Chatbot gets you notifications from its services from your chat sections. You can also type commands without switching to another tool to work with your infrastructure.
Chatbot Integration into Microsoft Teams
integrating the chat app with AWS services, including Amazon Notification Service and Amazon CloudWatch makes it possible to interact with Amazon Web Service infrastructure and resources. Amazon CloudWatch Service helps enterprise users to collect and visualize real-time metrics, logs, and event data in automated dashboards. On the other hand, the push notification service known as SNS works between microservices, distributed systems, endpoints, and serverless applications.
The company reveals Amazon Web Services SNS comprise applications like AWS, Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose, Amazon Simple Queue Services or SQS, and several other HTTPS endpoints. The SNS combined with Amazon Web Services EventBrdige service lets the chatbot send event-related data to the supported chat apps.
The integration of AWS Chatbot within Microsoft Teams enables enterprise users to use the command line to run interface commands to initiate notebooks to deal with issues. Amazon Web Services say users can store long commands they tend to forget by creating pseudonyms within the AWS Chatbot channel in Microsoft Teams and other apps.
According to the company, notebooks serve as repositories to house executable codes for numerous computer programs. Enterprises need to include the bot in the relevant group or team in the app to add Amazon Web Service Chatbot to MS Teams. Subsequently, they can use the Teams’ URL to configure the chatbot within Amazon Web Services Cloud Development Kit or AWS Management Console.
Stormacq says in the post that enterprises must use their identity to seek management permissions on what members can perform in the channel and relate SNS themes to get notified AWS Chatbot was compatible with Amazon Web Services Chime and Slack when the company launched it in 2019. AWS Chatbot can also send notifications about other services, including AWS Budget, Amazon GuardDuty, CloudFormation., and AWS Health. Users can also get alerts about AWS Security Hub and CloudFormation.
Besides the new integration in Teams, the software giant has also introduced ChatGPT-like technology in Microsoft 365 app. The company has introduced the Copilot system and will embed into Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
