TikTok Does Not Want to Confirm AI’s Involvement in its Bold Glamour Effect Despite Rolling Out New AI Tools for Filter

The updated Effect House, TIkTok’s filter creation tools announced on 22nd February, allow effects creators to access a bunch of Generative AI effects that can modify your facial features in real-time. These effects include lip-puckering, an eyebrow eraser, and lovely smiling. The creators having early access, have made filters with the newest tools. TikTok assures the generative effects seamlessly match your skin.
The new techniques are different from other filter effects. Luke Hurd, an AR consultant, says traditional filters usually take a 2D camera feed and adjust users’ faces onto an exaggerated 3D model. Hurd has also worked on Instagram and Snapchat filters. He believes when users obstruct these effects, they can glitch or wrap. It is because of the 3D overlay, which feels it hard to stick to the user’s layout.
The Bold Glamour – A Milestone
According to Memo Akten, ikTok’s new effects refer to a milestone. It indicates the strangeness of the post-reality realm coming ahead. The Assistant professor at UC Visual Arts, San Diego, takes care of computational art & design and has highlighted videos guiding how these effects can change faces.
The new feature, Bold Glamour, aims to transform your face in numerous ways you can expect from traditional filters, including beauty. Hurd revealed that Bold Glamour uses machine learning technologies, Generative Adversarial Networks, and GANs to succeed in this impressive achievement. Bold Glamour has initiated a competition between how the camera views your face and the style the app wishes to morph you into as it uses users and then compares their face’s aspects to a dataset of pictures. Eventually, the tech blends the two collections of images into one. Hurd says carrying out this task fast will allow you to achieve a video framerate.
