Tinder has reportedly introduced numerous new features to help users find the right partner. They will also be able to make their dating profile more authentic. Tinder users can browse an exciting feature from Hinge, a Match group-owned app, to define the relationship type they want for themselves. It may involve several concepts about non-monogamy, which will also let members show their pronouns on their dating profiles.
Hinge and Tinder have partnered to look for more as the Match app focuses on Gen Z users to boost its growth. While all apps comprise slightly diverse parts of the online dating market, their features start to line up. Tinder rolled out a borrowed feature from Hinge in December, allowing users to clarify their requirements for a short-term or long-term commitment.
Tinder has recently stolen another Hinge feature besides adding Relationship Types. The latest update enables members to choose from various terms to define their required relationship type, including polyamory, ethical non-monogamy, or open to exploring. Tinder has begun making this change as it found 41 percent of Gen Z users are open to exploring or actively seeking non-monogamous relations.
Tinder’s SurveyÂ
Tinder surveyed about 4,000 singles looking for relationships earlier this year. The company found 26 percent of hierarchical polyamory and 36 percent of open relationships among the most popular non-monogamous association types among 18-to-25 active daters in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
While Tinder may not be interested in consumer interest as the only thing to drive it to adopt the feature, its product lacks more direct support for non-monogamous, which has frustrated those seeking users and those who avoid it. Since the majority of the singles did not enjoy their match with individuals with different relationship goals and ideals. It has many dating niche apps, aiming to support non-monogamy, including MoreThanOne, PolyFInda, and Feeld.
By adding the new feature, Tinder aligns with its newly included Relationship Goals, centering on what individuals look for from a relationship other than the mentioned types. It has enabled users to define if they want a long-term or a life partner, short-term, or open to a long-term relationship. You can also mention if you want to understand your dating goals if you are unsure about your preferred relationship type.
Displaying Four Pronouns on Dating ProfileÂ
Another new feature Tinder has rolled out to let its member show up to four pronouns on their dating profile from the list of fifteen options besides their gender and sexual orientation.
The app has cited Gen Z survey data as a vital factor driving the move. It notes that the fastest-growing group on Tinder is the LGBTQIS+ community. It said 33 percent of singles of 18-25 years claimed to have a more fluid sexuality, whereas 29% of daters said they found a more fluid gender identity in the last three years.
The combination of the new features can come in handy to deliver more enhanced outcomes for Tinder daters as they could easily find potential matches and define themselves on the dating app. The features also lure Gen Z members back to Tinder.
