Social media audiences can enjoy a fresh radical idea to authenticate social networking through a new social video app known as Nocam. It is like BeReal is ready to meet the challenges associated with the short video app – TikTok. The app lets you turn off the camera to avoid seeing how you look while recording videos.
Nocam aims to make filming a more natural moment while diminishing friction with a preview of your images. It is what often leaves social media users reluctant to post or add filters and edits to enhance their appearances. The new social media app works with the concept, better reflecting how individuals interact in real time. Nocam does not force you to face a mirror that shows you how you look like.
Justin Spraggins, the CEO, and co-founder of Nocam, says users know what they point at, so it is unnecessary to see its preview. Secondly, they look at what they are about to record and get stuffy about it. He says Nocam allows them to frame what they capture. It does not make them feel like it exactly is. Users can now perform in whatever way they want to create exciting content.
The Idea of the Nocam App
Snack Break, the startup, evolved the concept for Nocam’s continuous efforts through mobile social networking. Previously, the team unveiled Popcorn – a short-form video app, aiming to make official communication more fun. It allowed users to record pops or short messages that they share instead of longer texts, emails, and Slack.
Besides having steep competition from significant contenders, including Loom, the team lacked the necessary equipment to target the enterprise marketplace. With a background in the consumer world, Spraggins has worked on numerous apps, such as Umnute and Looksee. He also co-founded the makers of Wink, 9 Count, and others.
Spraggins talks about the pivot away from the short video app – Popcorn, revealing that his team was unsuccessful in doing what it wanted. The product is not what it wanted to feel like its team. They stayed lean and could use their available fundraising to experiment with other app ideas.
Nocam Prompts
Nocam is iOS-compatible only and works more like other social apps. You need to authenticate with their mobile number to use the app and allow them to access their contacts to find friends. It subsequently sends you the first prompt to capture a short video. While Nocam works around being prompted to record, you will get system-driven prompts in the initial phase. The app may send you more prompts as you add more friends.
Users might receive prompts from Nocam to spin in a circle, enjoy a specific dance, or post what they can do immediately as a challenge. The prompts will also comprise a random audio clip. The camera goes blurred when you start capturing. Since Nocam is a short video app, the clips you capture can go up to 8 seconds in length to keep recording quickly. You can also include a caption in your video and share it with your social network.
