TikTok has reportedly begun testing a new in-app tool that lets you create generative Artificial Intelligence avatars. The company told the digital media that it was experimenting with a new tool to make it easier for users to benefit from generative AI avatars on the social media platform. However, it is not a surprise to see TikTok looking for ways to incorporate its app’s version into its platforms, given the extraordinary success around Generative AI avatar features.
Matt Navarra, the senior social media consultant, first spotted the new feature for generative AI avatars, but it is not broadly available. TikTok confirms that only a few tech markets have begun testing the new in-app feature. The company aims to build a Lensa-like application in its app with the latest test product.
Access to the new in-App Tool
After the tech markets complete the testing process, it will be available broadly to worldwide users. When you get access to the new app tool, it will ask you to choose between three to ten photos to create AI avatars.
Screenshots shared by Navarra reveal that users can use the in-app feature once in 24 hours. It will allow you to create up to 30 avatars every time you use the new tool. You can choose up to five styles for the AI tool to generate your avatars after you upload your favorite images.
Navarra says the app takes a few minutes to generate Artificial Intelligence avatars. It also lets you download one or more AI-powered avatars and share them with your TikTok story. You can also upload one AI-powered avatar and use it as your profile avatar.
A representative for TikTok says the social media company claims to have always thought about newer ways to bring value to the community and enrich the TikTok experiences as it continues to make a safe and culture-driven place for inspiring creativity and entertainment. TikTok has begun experimenting with new ways to create and share profile images with the TikTok community.
According to the social media representative, while the TikTok tool may have more limited styles than what users can obtain on the paid app of Lensa, it can always give impressive results.
TikTok Community Guidelines
Users cannot use photos that may violate community guidelines shared by TikTok while creating avatars. The content moderation systems of the app will moderate the content uploaded to the platform. TikTok may remove all of your photos uploaded after a short time.
TikTok experiments numerous features, but not each one always ends up in the final product. On the other hand, the new experimenting features that turn into products look and feel different when the company launches them broadly.
It is worth mentioning that TikTok has already developed and incorporated limited versions of its popular AI app in August 2022. It is an in-app text-to-image Artificial Intelligence generator that allows you to use a prompt to receive an image you want to use as your video background. TikTok released the filter responding to the popularity of DALL-E2 text-to-image – an AI generator by OpenAI.
