Amazon has rolled out a new feature of its TikTok-style shopping feed named Inspire to all customers in the United States. Previously, the selected American customers could access the Inspire feature as they experimented with a TikTok-like shopping feed last year.
According to Amazon’s official site, the company has made the TikTok-style Inspire shopping feature available for everyone in the United States. It comprises a new photo and short-form video feed, which allows users to navigate the platform for ideas and products. Users can see content created by brands, influencers, and other consumers and shop from them.
Getting Started with Amazon’s Inspire
Amazon explains the way to start using Inspire on its shopping app through its official website. Users must open the app to sign in to their account and tap the Inspire icon on the navigation bar. It will prompt them to pick from more than twenty categories, such as skin care, gaming, hiking, travel, makeup, and interior design, to personalize their Amazon Inspire feed.
The shopping app allows you to like the content you discover on the platform by double-tapping on the screen. It offers a scrolling experience similar to using TikTok’s video feed. You can swipe up the vertical video feed from the bottom to watch the next one. Like TikTok, the Amazon Inspire feed has engagement buttons on the right side of the screen.
Users can scroll through the app’s small button displaying the products in the video to see something they like. Clicking on a product will show it in an overlay window on the top. You can visit the product’s page by tapping the “See all details” icon, where you can purchase it or add the product to your wish list.
Amazon Influence Program Creators & Brands
Inspire also allows creators from the Amazon Influence Program to post content to the platform. The creator becomes eligible to get a commission when customers buy from their content.
While customers cannot post to the shopping feed, they can submit a review for the product appearing in Inspire. If the Inspire feed does not show a customer’s product, it makes creators ineligible for the commission. Brands, including sellers and vendors registered in Brand Registry and an activated Brand Store, can post their products to Inspire shopping feed.
Oliver Messenger, the director for Amazon Shopping, says the company invents new things regularly to make online shopping an easy-and-fun activity. Inspire has brought a new shopping experience to let Amazon customers connect with buyable content created by various brands, influencers, and other customers.
You can discover new items or get ideas on what to shop according to your interest in just a few taps. The new Amazon shopping feed has over twenty categories tailored to users’ interests. The online shopping giant has a long history of using popular formats from numerous social media networks as it aims to engage online buyers and inspire purchases.
The announcement for the U.S.-wide launch of the Amazon Inspire shopping feed is also a part of such efforts wherein it has incorporated a TikTok-like shopping format into the app. Amazon aims to push products, but it is still vague if it can deliver a product that is worthwhile and entertaining at the same time.
