The Xeneon27QHD240 is an OLED gaming monitor from Corsair that joins the 2023 lineup and it is going head-to-head with competitors from Acer, Asus and LG. But, Corsair has made some smart decisions in terms of design and has added features that have helped it rise to the head of the pack.
Design
Even though Corsair is new to the monitor arena, it has managed to create a recognizable and unique look that includes ultra-sim display panels, along with a monitor stand. Even though Corsair’s gaming monitor is not the most eye-catching one in the market, the design is still quite impressive. The Xeneon27QHD240 is quite well-built.
The different components are covered up with lots of plastic cladding, but the monitor manages to feel durable and rigid. The materials have an appealing texture and appearance and it is easy to grip the monitor. The stand can be adjusted to tilt, swivel and even pivot 90 degrees and its height can also be adjusted.
Connectivity and features
There are four video inputs that you can find on the Corsair Xeneon27QHD240. These include one DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.1 ports and a USB-C port with 65 watts of power delivery and DisplayPort alternate mode. Thanks to this connectivity, you can use multiple input devices with the monitor. It is possible to connect a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC simultaneously.
There is also a USB-C hub that connects one additional USB-C port and two four USB-A ports. Most gaming monitors do not offer this variety and it gives you a lot of flexibility when it comes to connecting wired devices. A great bonus is that the ports do not face downwards, but rearwards and this makes it easy to connect devices.
You can access the monitor features through a joystick, which is right bezel on the bottom. It has a sensor, so when your hand comes close to an inch of the joystick, a shortcut menu appears on-screen. The menu is logically arranged, responsive and quick. You can find several image quality adjustments including color temperature adjustment, gamma adjustment and preset color modes.
There is also a Brightness Stabilizer, which helps in adjusting the brightness and this is quite useful because OLED monitors often see wild swings in the brightness.
Gaming and HDR image quality
The Xeneon27QHD240 excels when it comes to gaming. An RWGB subpixel layout is used with an LG Paper White display panel. The 26.5-inch monitor comes with a 2560×1440 resolution and it has a contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1, which is great for PC gaming. The games are very sharp and the details are great.
The HDR performance is where the Xeneon27QHD240 could use some improvement. The lack of brightness is the main issue, as the images can look dusty and dull even in the brightest of games. But, it is easy to overlook it because of the motion clarity of the monitor. With a refresh rate of 240Hz and a 0.03 millisecond pixel response time, it gives fantastic clarity.
The Verdict
The Xeneon27QHD240is definitely a strong addition in the OLED gaming arena, thanks to its motion clarity, color performance and contrast ratio.
