Google unveiled a significant renovation of its search result page, which fills your computer screen with artificial intelligence. The new interface named Search Generative Experience or SGE aims to bring a transformational change to the single most-visited over the internet.
The tech company wants its users to forget the ten blue links by bringing the most radical change in twenty-five years. When a user types a query into the search box, it shows the ten blue links before it pushes off the page with a vibrant new shade with AI-powered information.
Presently, the Google search results page does work flawlessly as it often seems cluttered with links from websites that have played with the system to be there. The newest version aims to modify the way it offers users information. While these changes might bring more enhanced results, they can also be worse.
 Google’s Direction
Google has always promoted UI changes by presenting answers within its ecosystem rather than using third-party sources, including the Knowledge Graph and featured snippets. They are handy in solving simple queries. They take the blue links from the top of the page but sometimes succeed in letting their users get an answer faster.
The company has brought SGE as a logical step in the process, as it requires you to offer an answer to the query without redirecting to a source. The so-called 10 blue links are no longer the perfect results. Some users may not like these changes, pushing the familiar list of links as they want to examine sources and cannot be ready to trust the summarized search results on Google.
Google unveiled a demonstration of how transformative Search Google Experience looks like and works earlier this week. The SGE drives its list of links almost off-screen. The company arranged a live demo on Pixel, but SGE is more challenging with the link links. Users cannot see SGE’s results until the presenter enhances the summary box.
It seems like the problem will get worsen when advertisements appear on the page with Search Google Experience. Google also briefly demonstrated how ads might appear on commercial queries. The illustration captures the outcome and drags most of the Search Google Engine results without making the list of links noticeable.
Google knows these objections and introduces an alternative to links through SGE. These links do not work as your primary destination. The company makes them supplemental, though Google is not the only firm offering Artificial Intelligence that faces criticism. While the latest Bing chatbot is capable enough to display its sources, it is vague if clicking through these citations could be meaningful.
 Dramatic Effect
Broadly rolled out SGE can dramatically impact the media ecosystem supporting ads. The ecosystem works with individuals who click through Google links to go through the content with advertisements with them, allowing the publisher to get paid by the marketers. Fortunately, the company will not force SGE on everyone t, allowing those users preferring to view the list of links in the results still to see them.
In the first phase, Google released it as an experimental feature that can only be accessible to those users who sign up for a waitlist. It will later be available to all users gradually. Since the company has talked a lot about Artificial Intelligence during the live demonstration, many people can imagine a future where Google fits it into all users’ Search experiences. Tech experts note if the tech giant continues to rely on Artificial Intelligence to answer your queries, it might need to drag the list of links further.
