Google Chrome has brought a new update, aiming to make customization and personalization for your browser’s appearance easy. Earlier, Chrome offered a Customize Chrome button at the bottom of the screen. The software giant announced the new feature on Tuesday, saying the new panel is for an easy profile customization process for Chrome users.
According to Google, the new customization panel will recollect your specific customized changes as you go. The latest update rollout allows you to use browser customization features with the new side panel. It has many features to experiment with and see how they will look on your New Tab page when you implement the modifications.
The New Customization Tool
Google Chrome comprises hundreds of images related to various categories. It allows you to click the Change Theme button to browse from the new side panel and choose from the available categories like Seascapes or Landscapes.
Users having trouble choosing one image can pick a rotating background. To do this, they should click on their desired theme collection and turn on the toggle labeled Refresh Daily. Some users prefer separate Chrome profiles to keep their professional and personal accounts different. Google makes it easy for you by letting you give each browser profile a different color and background to distinguish between them.
Multicolor Customization of the Theme
The new customization tool of Chrome now allows you to customize your profile background with themes in numerous colors. You can choose a suitable theme from the available collections and see if your browser can adjust its color to suit it. You can also opt for a different theme for your overview page if the previously selected one does not attract you enough.
While customizing a browser profile is not new for online users, Google makes it easier to change how it looks with the latest update. Users can find the new feature as a part of the updated Chrome browser for desktops.
Mitigation of Third-Party Cookies
Earlier this year, Google launched its Privacy Sandbox to use a more privacy-conscious approach as a replacement for third-party cookies. It aims to let users deal with their interests and assemble them into cohorts based on the same browsing patterns.
The latest move was a significant change for online marketing. Although the relevant industry has talked about it several times and released diverse experiments, it is finally becoming a reality. The software giant will mitigate one percent of Chrome users to Privacy Sandbox from early 2024. Google aims to completely depreciate third-party cookies in the second half of the upcoming year to remain on track.
Moreover, Google plans to make Privacy Sandbox suitable with the release of Chrome 115 in July 2023. Chrome will make the privacy tool’s measurement APIs accessible to all users, as it will immensely help developers experiment with these APIs with live traffic. It is worth mentioning that the tech company will not bring any considerable change to the API after this.
