On Friday, Meta rolled out new AI-powered Sandbox tools to help advertisers with the ads process. The new generative AI features include background generation, alternative copies, image cropping, and text prompts for Instagram or Facebook ads.
The alternative copies feature allows businesses to create numerous variations of the original copy for diverse audiences. It helps them keep the primary message of a similar ad. Advertisers can also generate various assets for an advertising campaign using the background generation tool.
The AI-powered Sandbox also has an image cropping feature to help brands create visuals for different mediums, including stories and social posts. Short videos, such as Reels on Instagram or Facebook, can be one of the mediums used for advertisements. The company has rolled out these features to selected advertisers in the initial phase, whereas more advertisers will be able to access them by July 2023.
Meta says in a blog post that the company works with a trivial number of advertisers to gather feedback that it can use to make these products better. It will gradually expand access to more advertisers. Meta also revealed its plans to include AI-powered tools in its ad products later in the following year.
Generative Artificial Intelligence Tech in Ads
Meta announced the new AI-powered advertising tools after Andrew Bosworth, the company’s CTO, told the media last week that the firm was willing to benefit from generative Artificial Intelligence to streamline ads process.
Bosworth says he expects to see some of the commercialization of the Artificial Intelligence tech in 2023. Meta just made a new generative artificial intelligence team a few months ago. It is perhaps the area where Mark Zuckerberg – the CEO and Chris Cox – the Chief Product Office, and Andrew Bosworth – the CTO, work the most to enhance the marketing efforts.
The company promises to catapult online ads into a new phase with Sandbox tools and an upgraded Meta Advantage suit. Meta unveiled many AI-powered features to improve brand performance and modernize ad processes to redefine digital marketing with Artificial Intelligence. The tech giant’s newest offerings give a fascinating glimpse into the marketing future through generative artificial intelligence. The AI-powered Sandbox is a testing play area for the advertising tools, including:
 Text Variation
Its Text Variation feature automatically generates numerous versions of the advertiser’s original copy to help them experiment with audience-tailored messages.
 Background Generation and Image Outcropping
The AI-powered feature lets advertisers generate background images to tailor creative assets from text-based inputs. Likewise, Image Outcropping helps marketers adjust creative assets to match numerous aspect ratios across various platforms, such as Reels or Stories. It saves advertisers’ time when reusing advertisement creatives.
 Meta Advantage Suite
Meta also rolled out new features for the Meta Advantage suite – a new suite of automation tools to enhance advertising campaigns with technologies, including AI and ML. The new automation tools streamline ad personalization and optimize the outcomes to save advertisers’ time.
Brands can change manual marketing campaigns to Meta Advantage suite and shopping campaigns. The company will roll out this feature through the Ads Manager across the platform. Advertisers can enrich their catalog advertisements with video content. Meta has begun experimenting with the new features and plans to launch it by the end of 2023.
 Performance ComparisonÂ
Advertisers can measure and compare the brands’ performance of their Advantage + and manual campaigns. They can offer audience preference as guidelines to open doors to a broader ad audience. The company will make this feature widely available in a few months. Lastly, Meta talked about its significant investment in Artificial Intelligence infrastructure, saying it allocates billions of dollars annually to create artificial intelligence capacity for marketers.
