Microsoft unveiled its AI-powered tool, MS Designer, in the public preview. The new tool with expanded features is a Canva-like web application that can create attractive designs for posters, invitations, presentations, graphics, and digital postcards. Users can share them on social media networks and other online channels.
Launched in October 2022, MS Designer influences DALL-E 2, text-to-text AI powered by OpenAI, and user-created content to envisage designs with text boxes and dropdown menus to enable personalization and customization. According to the company’s GM, Bryan Rognier, the Artificial Intelligence powered models have progressively enhanced in many forms. Microsoft has worked to pile these handy competencies through the Designer canvas in more enjoyable ways while making sure users remain in control.
Microsoft Designer Features
As mentioned earlier, the public preview of Microsoft Designer reveals a comprehensive suite of features. Users can obtain relevant written captions and hashtags for their social media posts as the app allows them to choose the desired one from given suggestions. MS Designer can also generate animated visuals with AI-powered text transitions and backgrounds.
Microsoft Designer will get more editing features. One of these allows object placement in a specific spot in an image while the rest of the picture gets automatically filled. Users can use other features like Replace Background and Erase options to brush over backdrops, people, or objects not intended to be in the picture.
The software company will allow free access to Microsoft Designer during the public preview. Users can get it through the sidebar in the MS Edge browser and the Designer site. MS 365 Personal and Family subscriptions will include the Designer app after the company makes it available for the general public. While non-subscribers will have some free functionality free, Microsoft did not elaborate on it further.
Microsoft says the company has addressed some legal questions around image-generation systems powered by Artificial Intelligence. The company will let users have usage rights to commercialize the images created with Image Creator and Designer. It continues to be vague whether or not the app might have changes in the future.

The Designer tool offers customizations and personalization by harnessing OpenAI’s DALL-E2 to conceptualize designs. It augments users’ creative workflow and helps them solve creative barricades. It leverages cutting-edge generative Artificial Intelligence technology to empower everyone to utilize new ideas and create exclusive and high-quality graphics, with or without a background, in no time.
