OpenAI Expands the Availability of the Official ChatGPT App, Releasing it in More Nations

The AI-powered ChatGPT app has taken the world by storm since its release last week. The app was available to U.S.-based users on iOS platforms who could download it from the Apple App Store. OpenAI aims to expand its magic across the world and is continually making an effort to do so. Today, the company announced to make the app accessible in eleven more countries, including South Korea, New Zealand, and Europe.
OpenAI took to its official Twitter account to announce the expanded availability of the ChatGPT mobile app in more countries. It is a free Smartphone app with no ads, aiming to make usage even handier on the go. The official app has an effective way to interact with the AI-power chatbot to make people already using ChatGPT feel at home.
New Beneficiaries of the ChatGPT App
The previously available ChatGPT app now will also work in the interest of users living in Croatia, Ireland, German, France, and Albania. Moreover, the U.K., New Zealand, and Jamaica will have access to the official mobile version of the AI-power chatbot only on iOS platforms. According to OpenAI’s Twitter post, Nigerian users can also download the app on their devices. The company also promised to launch the official ChatGPT app for Android platforms soon.
The latest expansion of access to the official ChatGPT app is fascinating, as Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, has a meeting scheduled with the European leaders of the state this week. Altman has already raised his concern regarding AI-related regulatory policy in Europe. He also warned of blocking the app in case of any negativity towards the app.
The ChatCPT maker has said he might consider leaving the European Nation if it does not comply with the planned regulations on Artificial Intelligence. It is worth mentioning that the EU’s planned law will be the first to regulate AI technology, and it could need Generative AI companies to show copyright material involved in training their systems for text and image creation.
Mobile-based ChatGPT Official App
The mobile version of the AI-power chatbot works as same as the web. It is an additional layer to the comfort of use as users do not necessarily need to open a browser to benefit from ChatGPT and its features. The app on the go saves your history and employs it for its model training. The relevant enabled feature can find our chats on desktop and mobile. Interestingly, the online service does not give an option to disable data sharing unless you disable the chat history.
ChatGPT Plus subscribers can use the mobile version and still access GPT-4’s capabilities. They will find faster response times on the app, similar to the web version. The ChatGPT app allows you to type a text in the given text box and works like you send a message in any instant messaging app.
The speech recognition feature enables users to dictate the message, whereas its Whisper system is handy for voice input. OpenAI works on your request once you tap the send button.
