Not long ago, it had seemed as if Samsung was ready to give up on making laptops altogether, but the Galaxy Book range has proven to be stronger than ever. There are four devices included in the lineup for this year, which include the Galaxy Book 3 360, 3 Pro, 3 Pro 360 and Galaxy Book Ultra.
The Galaxy Book 3 360 is the focus here, which is the most affordable option of the four and yet, it has lots of premium specs to offer. Let’s take a look.
Design and build
When it comes to the Galaxy Book 3 360, Samsung has aimed at portability and this becomes apparent when you check its weight. It is the lightest of the laptops at just 1.16kg and its 13mm thickness means that it is a light and thin convertible that you can take almost everywhere. The good news is that Samsung has not made any compromises in build quality to achieve this goal.
The laptop is well-built, with its aluminum chassis available in Silver and graphite (dark grey). The hinge is also quite tough, which means it is capable of surviving transformations between tablet, tent and laptop modes. Each mode works quite well and it feels secure and sturdy.
There are lots of ports to be found, including USB-A, two USB-C (Thunderbolt 4), 3.5mm audio jack and an HDMI port. The box includes a 65W USB-C charger and can be used for connecting other devices.
Display and audio
The highlight of the laptop is its display, as the 13.3inch OLED touchscreen on the Galaxy Book 3 360 delivers an excellent viewing experience. It offers top-notch color accuracy, but there are some drawbacks to consider. First off, the refresh rate is just 60Hz, while other laptops of the same range offer 90Hz or 120Hz. Likewise, it is only Full HD resolution.
Otherwise, the screen is reflective and offers decent brightness. Since it is OLED, you can enjoy vibrant colors. Touch input is supported, or you can use the S Pen stylus available with the laptop. The built-in speakers are also quite capable and allow you to enjoy detailed, crisp sound. Dolby Atmos support is also available.
Specs and performance
Intel’s 13th-gen processors are used for powering the Galaxy Book 3 360. They are known to offer a balance of affordability and performance. You can choose from the Core i5-1340P or the Core i7-1360P with 8GB and 16GB RAM options available and storage options of 512GB SSD and 1TB SSD.
Performance is a tad underwhelming, primarily because of the thin chassis that comes with minimal cooling. At high loads, the device will get a bit warm, but never too hot.
The Verdict
There is no doubt that the Galaxy Book 3 360 is a premium 2-in-1 laptop, but it comes with a starting price tag of $999.99, depending on the specifications you choose. It offers you a solid battery life and the excellent touchscreen and tough hinge are undoubtedly the highlights you cannot miss.
