At first glance, Dave The Diver is no different than an ocean, as it looks breathtakingly beautiful. The good news is that even beneath the surface, it offers you a wonderful and vast world that you can explore. Boasting a hilarious premise, the waterlogged adventure will manage to exceed your expectations in the best possible way and will keep you glued for a long time.
The plot
The story of Dave The Diver is about the owners of a sushi bar, who are a group of coworkers who have now become friends. The said bar is located close to a magical stretch of water called the Blue Hole that changes its aquatic ecosystem and terrain on a daily basis. Dave is the primary character who is a rotund diver and enjoys drinking soda. He caters to everyone who is part of his life, including a bossy sea creature every now and then.
The story itself is very endearing and silly, as it involves some lots of people making comments about the weight of your character, aggressive wildlife protectors and a secret society of merfolk. Even though it may seem shallow initially, you will find that the story becomes substantial, as the character development really shines. It is also great that some of the characters have memorable and amusing scenes when you are interacting with them.
The action
The best thing about Dave The Diver is that it is not just another adventure RPG, as it also comes with a deep sim related to restaurant management. Your time will be divided between hunting for supplies and fish by diving into the Blue Hole, completing quests and battling sea monsters and managing the sushi bar, which includes hiring and training employees, creating new recipes and then cooking, plus dealing with the clientele.
The adventure portion is when you dive into the Blue Hole, as you have to capture fish in order to make sushi and this means using guns, a harpoon and nets. You will explore the water and this results in lots of confrontations with sea creatures that are full of action. There are also ancient ruins that you have to navigate by solving various puzzles and then fight various bosses.
The enemies
The combat that you have to engage in Dave The Diver is quite satisfying, if a bit challenging, because rather than acting like a savage brute, it is better for you to catch the fish alive. In terms of the enemies you have to face, there are different varieties. Sometimes an entire school of hungry and small biters will surround you, while other times a lone shark can also come at you. There are different types of wildlife lurking in the depths of the Blue Hole.
As far as weapons are concerned, you have the option of using a long-range sniper rifle, but your ammo is limited. You can also use the tranquilizer dart gun to bring down your enemies, or use a shotgun to get up close and personal.
The Verdict
If you are looking for an unforgettable and entertaining RPG adventure, do not look further than Dave The Diver because it fits the bill perfectly.
