The Air Pro 3 are the new flagship noise-cancelling earbuds that EarFunhas introduced and they are capable of delivering detailed, dynamic and full-bodied sound. They also offer good comfort level, which means you can easily wear them for hours and there has been significant improvement in the active noise cancellation (ANC).
The features
However, the Air Pro 3 are able to distinguish themselves from their competition because of their futuristic features that could prove to be immensely useful in the future. EarFun was able to outmaneuver its competitors with the use of the new Qualcomm QCC3071 audio chip. This has allowed the company to come up with the first earbuds that have support for the Bluetooth LE Audio architecture. These updates could certainly prove to be user-friendly in the future, as long as hardware makers are able to take advantage of them.
The Air S are another product offered by EarFun, which are nozzle-tipped buds that are a lot more affordable than the offerings from Jabra, Bose, Apple and more. The overall sound, price and battery features of Air S are also appealing, but they are slippery in the ears, which means they have to be adjusted constantly. Their touch controls are also flakey and their noise cancellation is mediocre.
But, these issues have been fixed in the Air Pro 3. Their enclosure’s curvature has been reoriented and shaved, which allows them to fit easily into the ear canal and not slip constantly. This also improves the effectiveness of noise cancellation. They are also capable of delivering a full bass performance. The top of the earbuds also has dimples that make touch control easy.
As for noise-cancellation, it has received an upgrade, as six microphones have been added rather than the four used in the previous model.
The sound
As mentioned earlier, you will be able to fit the Air Pro 3 easily in your ear. But, what about the sound? The good news is that they deliver a very present and clear sound. It is well-articulated and the bottom-end has a bit more kick that the Air S. There are three noise-cancelling modes available and the ‘Normal’ setting, which is the most energy efficient, delivers a balanced sound.
The volume level could be an issue, as they are quite loud when used indoors, but may not be enough when you are somewhere noisy. You do have the option of pushing up the sliders on the six frequency bars via the EQ screen on the EarFun App, as this will increase the volume by several decibels.
New additions
Some of the new additions you will find in the Air Pro 3 include the support of Bluetooth 5.3, which is necessary to work with Bluetooth LE. They also have 11m wool composite drivers that allow them to deliver a deeper bass response. With ANC, the battery life of the Air Pro 3 lasts for 7 hours and 9 hours without it. As for the charging case, it can deliver four full recharges before it needs to be charged itself. The battery level of the case and the buds can be tracked in the app.
The Verdict
At a price of $79.99, the EarFun Air Pro 3 offer decent performance, which makes them a good performance.
