For years, Motorola has been producing affordable phone and they have always delivered value for money, regardless of which range the phone belongs to. The same is the case with the Moto G23, as it proves to be a lot of mobile for its price.
Design
The looks of this lively little phone and the way it feels also indicate that it should cost more than it does. The design is quite appealing, as the matt surface is a cool steel blue, while it also has a metallic finish. The phone is made of plastic and it is easy to grip the frame. This means that it can sit in your hand comfortably.
There are a few small volume buttons on one side, along with the on button, which also functions as a fingerprint scanner. On the opposite side of the Moto G23, you will find a SIM card slot that allows you to use two SIM cards and there is also a microSD card slot in case you need more storage. The phone already comes with 128GB storage, which is quite generous, as phones of this range do not usually offer more than 64GB.
The performance
The Moto G23 is powered by MediaTek’sHelio G85 system and it has been paired with 4GB of RAM. This is quite normal where budget phones are concerned because this is enough to give a decent performance. The phone is able to keep up in everyday tasks like surfing the web, checking emails, using social apps and even movie streaming.
In addition, the phone offers a little more graphics power than you expect. It gives you a better ability to play games, even though it is not a gaming phone. This price does not offer 5G, but again, this is not surprising.
The display and sound
A 6.5-inch 720p screen can be found on the Moto G23, but they have not specified the LCD type. It looks and functions like a PLS panel, as it has good contrast and color balance. It comes with a 90Hz refresh rate, but this can be reduced to 60Hz when high frequency is not required. The brightness is also pretty good, but the color gamut falls a bit short.
As far as sound is concerned, Motorola offers stereo sound in the Moto G23 with rich bass and midrange. DolbyAtmos support is also provided, both for the headphones and speakers that you can connect through the 3.5mm audio jack, or wirelessly.
The camera
There are three cameras to be found on the back of the Moto G23 and the main one is 50Mp that takes photos with good color balance and dynamics. You also get a wide-angle camera that has a 5Mp sensor and this actually offers sharper focus than the main camera. But, it is the selfie camera at the front that proves to be the best one, which takes 16Mp images that offer good light, sharpness and color balance.
The Verdict
When you add the hefty battery that the Moto G23 has in the mix, then it becomes even more obvious that the phone is definitely worth the money.
