As compared to the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro, the 13T Pro is considerably affordable, but it would not be apparent when you look at most of the specs. In terms of hardware, the phone does not really have any weaknesses and it also comes with a powerful processor.
Design and Build
The appearance of the Xiaomi 13T Pro is lot more like the 13 Pro, which is more expensive and came earlier. Even though this should be a good thing, it really is not. The ceramic back is highly reflective and not everyone is going to like it. In addition, it also picks up dirt and fingerprints quickly and they are very noticeable. You can use the case given in the box, but it gives the phone a cheap look.
Covering up the ceramic back does not seem like a good idea because it looks and feels very premium and is still lighter and more fragile than glass. The 13T Pro feels very durable, as Gorilla Glass 5 has been used on the screen. All models of the phone weigh around 206g, with the exception of Alpine Blue that weighs 200g. This is quite decent for a phone that has a 6.6-inch display. The frame is aluminum, which is also a nice touch.
The side of the phone is where you will find the volume and power buttons and they feel quite natural. The bottom of the device has the tray for two SIM cards, but no microSD storage. There is a USB-C port, but no 3.5mm audio jack.
Screen and Speakers
The screen of the 13T Pro is a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel, which offers vibrant and rich colors. While the resolution of 2712×1220 is not the highest, it still provides excellent detail and clarity. The 20:9 aspect ratio is not surprising, but difficult to use single-handedly. It does come with a 144Hz refresh rate and there is also the dynamic refresh rate option available.
There is an optical fingerprint sensor within the display. The punch-hole selfie camera can also be used for face unlock. There are speakers on the top and bottom of the 13T Pro that offer a dual stereo setup. The vocals are clear as is the audio.
Specs and Performance
The MediaTekDimensity 9200+ chipset has been used in the 13T Pro and it is one of the most powerful chips available. The phone comes with 12GB as well as 16GB of RAM versions and the performance is truly excellent. You will not find any slowdown or lags, whether you use the phone for composing messaging, surfing the web, scrolling through social media or email.
Even though it has not been designed for gaming, the 13T Pro is able to handle most of the demanding games pretty well. Even for video and photo editing and multitasking, the phone is quite capable.
The Verdict
As compared to many other phones, the Xiaomi 13T Pro does deliver major upgrades on its predecessor. It delivers excellent performance and has a spectacular display that do justify the price tag.
