These days, most GPUs are available at incredibly high prices and are unable to justify them in terms of performance. Luckily, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT is an affordable graphics card, given that it has a price tag of $329.
Extra memory
First and foremost, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT comes with 16GB of VRAM, which is higher than the 8GB in the RX 7600 that had been introduced last year. These days, games are demanding more memory and the 8GB of VRAM might fall short. However, this is mostly a future scenario and not applicable right now. Even the 8GB of VRAM is good enough for most games available today.
Design and specs
The RDNA 3 graphics architecture has been used for building the AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT. The generation offers better AI accelerators and ray tracing. There are a total of 32 compute units and they come with a higher Game Clock, as it boosts up to 2,470MHz. But, the higher clock speed also means more battery. The total board power is 190W, which is also an improvement. The graphics card remains pretty cool and is able to handle higher loads easily.
But, since it has higher power requirements, an 8-pin and also a 6-pin PCle power connector are required for the AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT. In terms of ports, the card comes with 1 HDMI and 3 DisplayPort, which is the norm for most cards these days.
Performance
As far as performance is concerned, you will not have any complaints with the AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT. But, the problem with performance is that there is nothing exceptional when you compare it to the RX 7600 that was introduced last year and is available for a price tag of $269. Yes, it is true that the AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT comes with 16GB of VRAM as compared to 8GB in the RX 7600. But, when you compare the performance of the two cards, there is not much of a difference.
As mentioned earlier, the 16GB of VRAM is unnecessary for the most part and is likely going to be required in the future when new games are introduced that require more memory. If you are looking to upgrade from the RX 7600, it does not make sense to get the RX 7600 XT by paying the higher price tag.
The Verdict
The AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT is available at a price of $329 starting from January 24th and it is undoubtedly an excellent 1080p graphics card for those who are on a budget. However, it does not make sense for people to buy it when they can get the same performance from other cards by AMD, or even by Nvidia. Nonetheless, if you want extra VRAM to be prepared for the future and are looking for a 1080p graphics card, then the RX 7600 XT is undoubtedly the best fit.
