The top-of-the-line flagship smartphone that Oppo has launched for 2024 is the Find X7 Ultra. It has a striking design and a massive camera system that make it stand out. It was launched in early January and is currently only available in China.
Design and build
Boasting a unique two-tone finish, the Oppo Find X7 Ultra is a beautiful phone. The frame and the camera module comes in a shiny metallic silver finish, which gives it a very classic look. There are several colors to choose from, depending on whether you want a subtle device, or a flashy one. The camera bump undoubtedly looks ridiculous, but some might consider it cool. The huge circular camera housing can be used to rest your forefinger when you want to use the device one-handed.
The phone is quite large and weighing 221g, you cannot call it light. But, even though it is big, you can hold it comfortably because of the curved edge display and the matching curves on the back panel. This makes the phone slimmer than it is. As the back is made of vegan leather, it is easy to grip and can also resist fingerprint smudges. A TPU case is also included in the box if you want to protect your phone.
The left-hand side has a three-position alert slider that allows you to switch between noisy, silent and VIP modes. The latter can be used for disabling microphone and cameras for privacy reasons. It also has impressive haptic feedback and it also offers a great typing experience.
Screen and speakers
The 6.8-inch AMOLED display is quite spacious, not to mention vibrant and sharp because of the resolution of 1440 x 3168 and a dynamic refresh rate of about 120Hz. The brightness output is one of the most prominent features of the Find X7 Ultra. The curved-edge display works because the curve is tighter than other phones, so it feels like a flat display most of the time. The rounded edges make the gesture controls feel smooth and the phone feels slimmer in your hands. The display also has Dolby Atmos support.
The OS also gives you lots of customization options for choosing the colors. There are three main profiles, which are Pro, Natural and vivid. The media processing engine of the phone can also be used for sharpening low-resolution images, or even for converting SDR content into HDR content. There are dual stereo speakers in the Find X7 Ultra that are very capable. They offer greater clarity and bass than most devices and they also get very loud.
Specs and performance
The most powerful SoC from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, is used to power the Find X7 Ultra. The phone is available in 2 configurations; 12GB of RAM with 256GB storage and 16GB of RAM with 512GB storage. You will have no issues in multitasking and it can run almost every game in the Play Store at maximum settings. The phone feels responsive and speedy in every situation, as the apps open in a flash and the animations are smooth.
A built-in game overlay has also been incorporated that gives you access to network optimization, notification blocking and performance modes. Mostly the phone remains cool and only heats up slightly.
The Verdict
The Oppo Find X7 Ultra also boasts the most capable camera system in the market. The huge design comprises of four cameras and they do an excellent job. The phone impresses in every area, as it has a beautiful design, a stunning display and speedy performance, along with the best cameras.
