Well-known for making premium accessories, such as hubs and chargers, Ugreen’s latest USB-C docking station offers speed, precision and quality. A good docking station is one that is a charger at heart and also offers various port extensions. Ugreen delivers in this regard, as its USB-C docking station comes with 12 ports. It boasts three display ports, which set it apart and they can be used with both MacBooks and Windows laptops.
Design
This is a vertical docking station that Ugreen has introduced and has a very compact design for its ports, with 1 upstream, 11 downstream and 1 for charging the dock. The Space Gray Color of the Revodok Pro 312 ensures that it matches darker laptops, which means it will not stand out on your desk. The upstream and power ports have been placed at the rear and the front ports have also been selected sensibly.
The power button is also on the top, which enables the user to switch off the power to the laptop when not in use, thereby preserving battery. The black top of the dock has a subtle light under it, which displays when you connect it to a laptop.
USB ports
There is a USB-C port mounted on the back, which is used for charging the dock. There is also an upstream USB-C port, which connects to the computer and also charges it. You will also find front-mounted USB-A and USB-C ports capable of transferring data at 10Gbps, which is a lot faster than other USB-C docks.
The back also has two USB-A ports, which are slower at 5Gbps, but still quite reasonable. It should be noted that you cannot use any of these USB ports for charging connected devices, with the exception of USB-C to laptop.
Other ports
There is also a Gigabit Ethernet port provided for stable and fast wired-internet access. There are also two card-reader slots on the front of the dock, with one full SD and the other microSD, or TF. These ports are UHS-I, which means they can transfer data at a speed of 104Mbps. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack that can be used for connecting a microphone, or speakers.
Displays
The DisplayPort and one of the HDMI ports support 4K at 60Hz, both on Windows and Mac devices, while the second HDMI port is capable of pushing up to 8K at 30Hz and 4K at 60Hz in Windows and Mac devices, respectively. As for the HDMI 2.1 port, it can reach 60Hz at anywhere below 8K i.e. 4K, 5K and 6K. You can simultaneously connect three displays when you use the DisplayPort and the HDMI ports.
Price
The Ugreen Pro 312 USB-C dock costs $329.99, which is pricier than other USB-C docks. But, Ugreen has added a 2-port 100W wall charger. 15W of power is required by the dock itself, so a 100W PD is needed for reaching 85W. Using a desktop charger is also an option.
The Verdict
Thanks to its three video ports, anyone using multiple monitors can certainly take advantage of the Ugreen Revodok Pro 312 USB-C Triple Display Dock.
