Ugreen has packed the new Revodok Max 213 Thunderbolt 4 docking station with everything a laptop user could possibly require in terms of interfaces. Moreover, it has housed it in a high-quality and stylish metal casing.
Features
The docking station comes with a total of 13 interfaces that have been distributed quite sensibly across the front and the back. There is one USB-C 3.2 and two USB-A 3.2 at 10Gbps each on the front. It also has two memory card readers for SD and microSD and a 3.5mm audio socket for plugging in a headset. As for the back, it comes with 3 downstream 40Gbps Thunderbolt 4 ports, 1 DisplayPort 1.4, a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port and two USB-A 3.0 ports with 5Gbps.
The USB-A ports on the back are capable of delivering a maximum of 1.2 amps, while the front ones can deliver about 1.7amps. The 20W USB-C port on the front is capable of fast-charging your phones. The connections have been distributed quite well, as you can connect Thunderbolt 4 drives, or hard drives on the back, along with two monitors.
As for the front, you can connect a headset for gaming or video conferencing, an iPad, or iPhone for fast charging and mobile SSD drives.
Performance
Windows laptops can use this dock for hosting one 8K/30Hz display. As for macOS, it is possible to connect two monitors boasting 4K/60 Hertz, as long as you connect the right Mac. When it comes to the Power Deliver (PD) connection, the maximum support is for 90 watts. Flexibility is a bit complicated when you are setting up because Ugreen only offers a 0.8m Thunderbolt 4 cable.
You can get decent speed from the memory card readers. It is in line with what other docking stations offer, but lags behind external memory card readers, as expected. As expected, the data transfer rate is slower when writing as compared to when directly connected to the Mac. Nonetheless, the Revodok Max is still similar to its competition in this regard, so it is not exactly a setback.
When used as a charging station, the Revodok Max performs quite well. It was able to charge an iPhone 15 by 50% and 27% and 37% with an iPad Pro and MacBook Air M1. These measurements are for a period of 30 minutes.
The Verdict
Due to the Thunderbolt 4, it is possible for you to integrate a number of connections in a single docking station. The Revodok Max also gives you this capability. The metal housing is of top-notch quality and it is possible to set it up in both landscape and portrait format, which gives a great impression.
The three powerful and fast charging ports that you can find on the front are undoubtedly a positive addition. The performance data is as expected from a docking station, so the Revodok Max does nothing exceptional in this case, nor in terms of price. But this docking station is perfect fit to your MacBook.
