The CMF Watch 2 Pro is the second smartwatch from Nothing’s spin-off that highlights the fact that you do not need to spend a lot to get a stylish smartwatch. This time around, CMF has opted for a circular design, but the price is the same as its square predecessor.
Design and Build
The Watch Pro and the Watch Pro 2 are dramatically different in terms of looks. The latter has been reduced to 45mm from 47mm and has a circular case rather than a square one. It is made from aluminum alloy and is available in silver and black options. There is a 22m watch strap that you can find in four colors and in leather or silicone, as per your preference.
CMF has still opted to go for an industrial design, which means the watch has a minimalist look and is heavy on the bezels. The slightly raised bezel has CMF by Nothing written on it. The good thing about it is that you can change this bezel and there are four options available. There is also a rotating crown button in line with the attractive design and can be used to access the main menu screen.
Screen and Audio
As compared to the Pro, the Pro 2 has a smaller screen that measures 1.32-inches and a resolution of 466 x 466. The screen is also a little less bright, but the refresh rate has gone up to 60fps from 50fps. It also comes with an auto brightness mode, which means it adjusts the brightness according to the environment. The screen quality is quite decent considering the price tag.
The AMOLED panel offers good brightness and deep blacks, but the colors are a tad saturated. There is no LTE connectivity, which is not surprising. But, you can use Bluetooth to pair the watch with your iPhone or Android device. There is also a speaker and microphone and you can use the CMF app to ad contacts. The use of AI noise reduction technology helps in improving call quality. You can also take advantage of the voice assistant on your phone.
Software and Features
The Watch Pro 2 comes with an in-house built operating system that looks and feels very much like Google’s Wear OS. You will have no issues with the CMF watch app, whether you use the Android or iOS version. The process goes smoothly, including setup, data syncing and pairing. As far as the Watch is concerned, you will find the software to be mostly gesture-based. You can swipe in every direction from the watch face for accessing notifications, widgets, quick settings and music controls.
You can find more features on the main menu screen, such as a calendar view, torch, and reminders and find my phone mode. There are also quick gestures you can use for interacting with the software that you can turn on through settings.
The Verdict
If you are looking for a budget smartwatch that does not feel or look like a budget device, then you should give the Watch Pro 2 a try.
