Overview of the Gadget
The Logitech G Pro Wireless isn’t accurately a newcomer to the market, but it holds up strikingly well considering it was released in 2018. That should put it behind the most recent releases, but with Logitech’s HERO 25K detector at the helm, a smooth adaptable design, as well as some excellent life satisfaction characteristics, it still is a front runner amongst some of the gaming chair mouse options.
However, this is not a cheap affair. The Logitech G Pro has an MSRP of $129.99 / £109.99. That is, however, a little less pricey than some of the best wireless casino mouse products on the market – while still providing top-tier performance.
Design
Any desk would benefit from the Logitech G Pro Wireless. It has a simple design, for an all matte plastic case and a simple RGB window running through to the G logo at the bottom. This plastic material was chosen to keep the weight under 80g, and even with any grippy appearance running down each side, there was no slip from the ductile material. In juxtaposition, the smooth plastic can become clammy after a while, — particularly and you’re in a hot climate.
Because the G Pro can be used as a right or left-handed gaming mouse, the overall shape is less ergonomic than that of a slanted gadget like the Logitech G502 Lightspeed. The flatter top, on the other hand, is still comfortable in a variety of grips, with a fairly low hump tucking the rear of a mouse pleasantly into the palm. The smaller trunk may end up making claw grips less comfortable than on intent devices, but tester in this style revealed no significant discomfort over extended periods of gameplay.
Overall, the Logitech G Pro Wireless has eight programmable buttons that can be assigned up to 15 multiple roles (taking the G-Shift button layer into account as well). That’s an amazing achievement for such a streamlined, achievement pointer. I’m used to giving up macro instructions and extra controls for the convenience of speed in a lightweight, so being able to keep a solid range of component in this form was especially impressive.
The G Hub apps can be used to fully reconfigure each button, as well as set RGB and DPI shifter presets (in increments of 50 up to 25,600).
Performance
From its low click delay to its amazingly tracking, the Logitech G Pro’s efficiency has stood the test of time. That’s especially impressive given that this is an older mouse by market standards. Sure, it was initially released with a 16K sensor, but notifications have made that point to these lofty 25K heights, and the accuracy is excellent. Flicking through Apex Legends games was simple and quick, with even the smallest gestures registered and noted in an instant.
If you don’t want to leave your Logitech setup, we suggest checking out the G Pro X Superlight. At 63g, you’re still shedding some of that extra weight while maintaining comparable performance – though you do lose the 2 additional side buttons on the right.
