According to the most recent Employment Market Pulse, there is a growing market for digital skills, as LinkedIn recruitment rates stay high. Ireland’s total employment rate is at a record high, while the unemployment rate has come back to less than 5%.
In April, nearly one-fifth (19%) of Irish job postings decided to offer applicants the opportunity to function from home, providing higher accessibility to distant employment opportunities in Ireland all over seven countries closely watched by LinkedIn.
The shift in the labor market
According to the most recent data from LinkedIn, which is based on a study of the skills acquired by the platform’s 2+ million Irish users over the course of six years, the digital skills of users have almost increased  20% through 2019.
While the proportion of non-digital skills acquired by members has decreased since 2019, the proportion of digital talents has increased. Although the digital skills need is rising in several non-technology industries.
Employment rates and hiring
The survey also noted that the labor market continues to improve in the first quarter of this year. Uncertainty reduced consumer expenditure in Ireland during the first period of the year amidst severe economic challenges. However, the job market is also expanding quickly.
The rise in remote working
In April, over one in five (19.2 percent) of the Irish job advertisements on LinkedIn allowed people to work remotely. Ireland now has more remote job opportunities across the various markets tracked by LinkedIn. Hybrid employees from Ireland (20%) but even more potential workers (42%) are thinking about switching to remote work.
