Battle Royale Games are known for their competitive nature, which means they are not usually about making friends. But, it turns out that Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is a big revamp because it makes considerable efforts to inspire players to communicate, work together and socialize, all the while trying to be the last one standing.
The game introduces a new PvPvE mode, which is undoubtedly great because it takes you right into the Warzone, but with some twists. If you lose your teammate, you can actually take on enemy players, which provides solo players or weakened teams an opportunity to continue and keeps people invested for a longer duration.
Moreover, making friends in a battle royale can also be a lot of fun, but it is a tad difficult because most people simply fire as soon as they see you.
New stomping grounds
You are introduced to Al Mazrah, which is the battleground in Call of Duty: Warzone 2, and it is interesting to say the least. There are numerous cities that have lots of buildings that you can take the loot from and you can check out 18 points of interest, which range from a mining city, airports and even a literal fortress.
One important thing to note about Al Mazrah is that it is the biggest map Warzone to have been developed, as it can easily accommodate about 150 players. In addition, you will find some water passageways that are new and very cool, as they can be used for traveling via boat. This is a good option because it means that you do not always have to travel by car, or have to grab the helicopter. Plus, it gives you more escape routes to explore.
Gulag 2.0
Another good thing about Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is how the Gulag mode has been changed. This refers to where you go when you get knocked out of the main match. It is undoubtedly clever because you may end up being paired with a random enemy and you have to play nice to get another chance. However, there is some frustration as well because communication is not consistent. But, the good thing about it is that you do not necessarily have to beat the enemy players for getting back.
Proximity chat
One of the best additions that you will come across in Warzone 2 is that of proximity chat that enables anyone who is close enough to listen to your voice communications. This is a sneaky yet fun experience that you will not come across in battle royales. It improves the entire experience because you may hear people who are playing with their mics open unknowingly.
You can even have fun conversations with your enemies and even interfere in conversations. There is also room for creativity and Warzone comes off as a lively battleground because it allows you to interact with others and remember that your enemies are also humans.
The Verdict
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 builds on the strong foundation laid out by its predecessor and is an excellent update to the game’s battle royale mode. Its map is the biggest and it comes with some fun additions like proximity chat that revitalizes your experience.
