LinkedIn will introduce numerous features in the year ahead. In the annual preview of new updates, the company announced that it would roll out seven features in 2023, including content analytics, post-scheduling, enhanced video accessibility, and updates to job search.
LinkedIn users can expect the platform to add the following before 2024.
- Content Analytics
Access to data can boost your audience and measure the efficiency of your post. LinkedIn is familiar with this significance. It plans to update the creator analytics dashboard to add audience data and well-performing content. It lets LinkedIn users assess the progress of their following and learn more about their audience’s characteristics.
- Enhanced Video Accessibility
LinkedIn plans to provide users the facility to generate captions for the videos they upload to the platform. This feature will be available in the English language in the initial phase. Users would edit or add these video captions before posting them on their LinkedIn page. The app also allows them to start high-contrast mode to improve video accessibility for those with low vision or visual impairments.
- Campaign Manager & Alternative Text Functionality
Campaign Manager, a significant feature of LinkedIn, lets promoters include alternative text descriptions to pictures in their advertisements. Visually impaired or blind users can use this feature to understand the photos on the post.
- Job Search Collection
Looking for employment opportunities is a process that has undergone a notable change in recent times. Even if you do not need a new job, other people want to learn about and pursue new career opportunities. LinkedIn has begun testing personalized employment collections that users can find without searching online. It will check personalized job collection in the US with a few businesses, though LinkedIn intends for a quick expansion.
- Accessibility Job Titles
LinkedIn will also roll out standardized tiles for different jobs, especially for those working in the accessibility field. These titles could be accessibility engineers or accessibility designers. The feature helps individuals be easily discoverable on LinkedIn and seek opportunities matching their skills.
- B2B Product Search
“Product Pages” is LinkedIn’s recent launch that allows users to explore their required products, contact community experts, and make a purchase if interested. It empowers individuals to make better and well-informed purchasing decisions.
The company holds 90,000 B2B by-products. Members can see them via LinkedIn search. LinkedIn will also add new category filters to enhance the relevance of the Product Pages for a more personalized experience.
- Post Scheduling
Alongside other features, LinkedIn will also roll out “schedule” – a feature that allows brands and professionals to plan and schedule their postings beforehand.
The “schedule” button will appear beside the “Post” icon. Users will be able to use these buttons while creating a post. They can click the button to schedule their post and choose the time and day they want to share their content on the platform. LinkedIn users get complete over their content and can edit them as they go.
