Redmi is the budget-friendly brand of Xiaomi and it has done a great job of providing some usable wireless earbuds previously, often including features that are usually not included in the $100 price tag. The company returns with yet another offering in the form of Buds 4 Pro that has a price that seems to be too good to be true. What do they offer? Let’s find out.
Design and Build
The Buds 4 Pro come in a compact pill-shaped case, which functions as a charger and there is a USB-C port found on the underside for charging the case itself. There is a small button next to the port that you have to press and hold for pairing the buds with your device. The two buds are snugly fit in their housing and you can access them by flipping back the hinged top section and removing them is no hassle.
The design is a bit different from the previous ones, as Buds 4 Pro come with short stems emerging from the bulbous area that contains the dual dynamic drivers responsible for producing their sound. The outside surface boasts a thin flat strip that also functions as a touch-sensitive spot for controls.
Each bud has three microphones and there are openings on the bulb’s upper section where one of them can be found. The second one is inside the speaker grill and the last one in the lower part of the stem. This supports the ANC feature and allows users to take calls through a voice assistant. The buds weigh 5g each, which makes them quite light and wearing them is also very comfortable. There are different rubber tips provided of varying sizes and you can use the ones that fit your ear size.
Sound quality and features
There are two drivers in the Bud 4 Pros. The main is an aluminum alloy dynamic main driver of 10mm, while the second one is a titanium dynamic driver of 6mm used for higher frequencies. The combination is impressive because the sound quality turns out to be well-rounded and detailed. Bass frequencies do not get woolly or boomy. The treble and mid frequencies do not sound too tinny or shrill. The Buds 4 Pro are able to provide you a good and enjoyable experience for almost every style of music.
The Buds 4 Pro also have Hi-Res Audio capabilities and Immersive Sound is another feature you will find. They also have Bluetooth 5.3 capabilities, which means they can be connected to two devices simultaneously. Active noise cancellation is not a feature common in this price range, but the Buds 4 Pro come with multiple ANC modes.
The Verdict
You will find that the Redmi Buds 4 Pro offer 9 hours battery life and 4 to 5 hours without ANC and with ANC respectively. They also have reliable touch controls that you can redefine through the app. They are also very reasonably priced at around $97 and comfortable to wear, which makes this particular product a bargain.
