Panasonic’s LZ2000 ousts the JZ2000, as the TV uses the latest high brightness panel technology, comes with audio steering speakers and a Dolby Atmos sound system that has been dramatically revised and also delivers enhanced color performance. There is also a Game Control Board interface that combines relevant parameters, such as Dark Visibility Enhancer, HDR Status, input lag and VRR.
Design and Build
The LZ2000 boasts a high build quality, as it is finished rather handsomely in dark grey. It has a pedestal stand and a bezel that is wafer-thin. It might seem a bit bulkier than others, but this is mostly because of the speaker enclosures that can be found on the back panel. There are four HDMI connections with all supporting VRR (Viable Refresh Rate) and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), but only two that work with High Frame Rate 4K 120fps video.
There is also a digital optical audio output, three USB ports, an AV minijackas well as an Ethernet port. Support for both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth can also be found. The Game Control Board on the LZ2000 is an excellent attraction and it is a great touch that makes navigation easier.
Smart Features
The My Home Screen platform introduced by Panasonic is available on the LZ2000, which has an easy-going and intuitive interface and it gives you room for customization. Just like Samsung, you will see the streaming apps like a strip of buttons. You will find a variety of choices at your disposal including Netflix, YouTube, AppleTV+, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Rakuten TV and Britbox.
You will also find FreeviewPlay available, which also comes with a set of mainstream catch-up services like ITV hub, CBS Catch Up, UKTV Play, All 4, Legend, BBC iPlayer and My5.
Picture Quality
The picture quality of the LZ2000 is downright amazing, as it combines the high average brightness associated with OLED with dynamic HDR. This makes it effortlessly cinematic and the hues are rich, offering stunning detail. The OLED panels that Panasonic uses are able to deliver excellent performance because they employ heat management techniques.
The HCX Pro AI processor also plays a key role in the performance because it has an ambient light sensor that optimizes the screen. The TV offers wide HDR format support and has Dolby Vision IQ as well as HDR10+ Adaptive.
Sound Quality
You will find that the Dolby Atmossound system that has been built into the LZ2000 is the most elaborate one, as it comes with 360° Soundscape Pro. There are height speakers at the screen’s top rear and the left and right side have side-firing drivers. There is also a woofer that can give you decent bass. The soundbar design has also been upgraded and you can direct the sound output as per your preference. The LZ2000 sounds wonderful with atmospheric TV shows, action movies and even music programs.
The Verdict
If you are searching for an all-in-one home theatre option, you will find the Panasonic TX-55LZ2000 to be an excellent option, as it offers the best sound and screen in a good price.
