Flipboard is reportedly introducing the new Notes feature for its Android and iOS apps. The announcement comes after the option arrived on the web two months in November. It made the company the latest contender to move online discussions on Twitter onto its platform.
The Notes feature of the social magazine app is a simple way to exchange ideas or initiate conversations. According to the company, it has enabled its curators to print original and fresh content in the magazine to engage readers in a discussion.
Users can also use the Notes feature to welcome new followers or exchange ideas with others. Flipboard allows them to ask numerous questions from others to know their perspectives or recommendations using the Notes.
The Notes – What Users Can Do?Â
The new feature lets you express yourself with its distinctive sapphire-colored background and include your voice in the publication. You can also connect with individuals who follow the new feature and see a note’s responsive layout when it displays replies.
Flipboard users can open their desired magazine where they want to add a note to create a Note through the ‘Create’ button on the navigation bar. It is where they can initiate writing their Notes. It is also possible to mention your desired users’ names to include more context to the created Note.
Flipboard will notify you who responds to your notes, mentions you, and comments on your Notes published in the magazine. You can also showcase the Notes added to the magazines you follow in For You feed.
Group magazines will find these Notes particularly handy because multiple people join here to curate content together. The new feature can be the best way to exchange ideas and initiate discussions.
Flipboard says the Notes will enable the curators to create small communities about a specific interest or theme. The company first made users unable to make their individual magazines in 2012. They can find articles and flip them into a magazine, letting others follow them in their feeds.
The New Notes Feature Supports Original Content
Flipboard has become the latest candidate in shifting online conversations on Twitter onto its separate platform as an alternative. The inclusion of the new Notes feature will enable curators to make small communities of a specific interest or theme and deliver a diverse vibe when posting on social media to a general audience.
Mike McCue, the co-founder and the CEO of Flipboard, says it is like posting a regular post on Facebook or Twitter, though it would go into a magazine. Therefore, it works like a post for a micro-community. It lets people who care about something, follow the magazine, or contribute to the publication talk to each other and build a stronger community. The new Notes feature makes curators do more than share content because it comes with the option to publish text notes comprising links or uploaded images.
