The frenzy of AI-powered ChatGPT is everywhere. After Microsoft and Google, okCupid – a dating app, is the latest tech firm to have its hands on Artificial Intelligence and the OpenAI chatbot ChatGPT. The app has thousands of compatibility questions, but now, it has decided to add and test some generated by the OpenAI chatbot.
Michael Kaye, the head of global communication at OkCupid, revealed that the company plans to test a category of ChatGPT-generated match questions.
The match questions from the dating app allow you to introduce and define yourself and share what matters to you. You can also see your match percentage with someone to find out how compatible you might be in the eye of OkCupid.
According to Kaye, OkCupid always has kept itself in line with the trend and trending conversation in the technology industry. ChatGPT has become one of the most dominating topics of discussion these days.
OpenAI Chatbot Generated Questions
OkCupid first asked its daters about their views on the platform and other AI tools and found daters believing in ChatGPT think it a lifesaver. They also say the platform provides them with 40 percent more Matches than those that come from Big Brother. The users’ feedback sparked an idea, and OkCupid thought of using ChatGPT to draft its popular matching questions, powering its algorithms. That’s when the company decided to assess the new category of questions to which users respond well.
OkCupid requested ChatGPT to generate the questions that daters should as while being on the date. Questions generated by the OpenAI chatbot help daters ask if someone is more of an extrovert or introvert and a morning or night pal. Also, you can ask someone they want to date about how they want to spend a weekend, value a partnership, and know the best time to take the relationship to the next level.
AI-generated questions show that most respondents consider themselves to remain introverted and prefer dark hours over the morning. They also indicate that most people like to hang out with buddies on the weekend rather than engage in other activities, and they value a partner the most.
Dating App Uses The AI Technology
ChatGPT has become increasingly popular since its launch in the last quarter of 2022. Some days back, Microsoft announced its integration of OpenAI’s GPT-4 in Bing for a ChatGPT-like exposure for the search engine. Google also took advantage of the hype around the technology and assured its analysts and investors that it is still serving as a leader in developing AI-powered tools.
Recently, the dating platform – OkCupid started employing Artificial Intelligence software to test a new category of match questions. Leveraging AI technology is not surprising since some dating app users use ChatGPT to create messages for their perfect matches. The bot produced various questions to discern a dater’s preferences, lifestyle, and relationships.
However, the app identified 47 percent of OkCupid users who were unsure if they would continue dating someone who used Artificial Intelligence to communicate first. On the other hand, 34% of users say that they would not like to continue the relationship, whereas an 18-percent of the daters were sure about continuing the relationship.
