Anyone who is in the market for gaming laptops will certainly check out Razer’s offerings because it is known for coming up with sleek designs, even if it charges a premium. The Razer Blade 16 is also pricey, as it comes with a tag of $4,299 and it is undoubtedly a monster.
Design
The Razer laptops have a reputation of being high-performance devices that are packaged in the bodies of an ultrabooks. Other than the keyboard backlighting and the triple-snake logo, you would not be able to tell that the laptops are made for gaming. This is no different in the case of the Razer Blade 16, but its thickness might give it away. The machine is hefty and this is apparent right away.
This is not surprising, given that it boasts an Intel Core i9-13950HX processor as well as a mobile NvidiaGeForce RTX 4090. 32GB RAM has already been installed in the device, but you have the option to upgrade. There is also a 2TB SSD and a second one can also be installed. Put it all together and the Razer Blade 16 is about 5lbs and 8.1oz.
All of these components have been housed in a rigid and sleek aluminum unibody, so it comes off as well-built. The design is quite subtle, which makes it seem like an everyday laptop and also the fact that it is a 16-inch model.
Features
The ports have been split on both sides of the Razer Blade 16. There are two USB-A ports on the left, along with power, a headset combo jack and a USB-C port. A full-size SD card reader, a USB-A, USB-C and HDMI ports can be found on the left.
Even though it is a semi-large laptop, there is just a basic keyboard on the Razer Blade 16 and no additional navigation keys or a number pad. There is Chroma RGB lighting for each key and the contours are consistent. The trackpad is also quite large, which seems appealing, but does lead to erroneous clicks and gestures due to its size.
Display and More
The Razer Blade 16 offers a stunning 3840 x 2400 display with 120Hz refresh rate and gamers have the option of opting for a 1920×1000 mode that comes with a refresh rate of 240Hz. The display can offer phenomenal visuals, thanks to local dimming and mini-LED backlighting. HDR content can be seen with sultry blacks, rich colors and the highlights are sizzling.
The Razer Blade 16 also has a capable speaker setup that gives its entertainment capabilities a solid boost. It comes with a pair of woofers and tweeters that pump out impressively clean and loud audio. There is also a full HD webcam and it has a slide shutter you can use for covering it up when not using it. Like most of the laptops, it also runs on Windows 11.
The Verdict
The Razer Blade 16 offers immense gaming power in an elegant design and has a truly exceptional display. The price tag is a tad high, but it is undoubtedly a well-built gaming machine.
