Microsoft Bing chatbot has received a new feature that allows users to toggle between response tones. Modes like balanced, precise, and creative are three options AI-powered chatbots can use to respond to users’ queries. The Creative mode comprises original & imaginative responses, while the Precise mode supports relevancy and accuracy for a more concise and factual answer.
Bing chatbot works with the balanced mode. It anticipates striking a balance between creativity and accuracy. Microsoft has rolled out to all Bing AI users, whereas about 90% of users can already see them.
Tech analysts believe these new modes would help counter the wild outpourings they earlier observed with the Bing AI-powered chatbot. Microsoft wanted to quickly add a range of constricted restrictions to Bing AI after it gave many rude responses on Twitter and Reddit. The software maker has loosened those restrictions in recent times.
Bing AI New Toggle
While Bing has received several restrictions for its chatbot, some of those feel a little unresponsive. They do not answer some questions as they would confidently answer before Microsoft restricted them. The software giant has fixed many unresponsive problems because of a new update applied to Bing chat services in February.
Microsoft web services head Mikhail Parakhin says the latest update applied to AI-powered chatbot includes significantly reduced cases wherein Bing did not reply to questions without apparent reason. Ideally, it also means reduced cases of hallucination in answers. Therefore, Microsoft anticipates the Bing chatbot to produce fewer wild answers.
Windows 11 taskbar also received a shortcut to the Microsoft Bing chatbot, which integrates quick access to the chat services inside the Windows search feature. Microsoft also unlocked the preview for mobile users integrating it into Skype conversations. Presently, over a million people have begun testing the new Bing in the world.
Bing Chatbot Personality Becomes More Entertaining
Bing users can edit its AI-powered chatbot personality with a new feature. Microsoft has customized the default for the Bing chat services in the balanced mode, maintaining a balance between creativity and accuracy.
The new mode could help fight the wild surges originally observed with the Bing AI chatbot. Recently Microsoft tried to introduce some restrictions to the AI chatbot, which made Bing feel like not responding to questions or chats. The chatbot would refuse to address those questions it had confidently answered in the past.
Besides bringing a new feature to its Bing AI-powered chatbot, Microsoft has also begun testing a better Windows 11 volume mixer. The enhanced audio mixer will let users make individual audio volume and output adjustments from the taskbar. The tech giant had officially revealed the updated volume mixer as a component of Preview Build 25309, available for testing in the Windows 11 Insider Dev channel.
Microsoft Windows 11 will have the updated volume mixer placed in the Quick Settings panel on the taskbar. Users can click on the volume icon to access it. The company has also introduced a new Windows keyboard shortcut to open the volume mixer. You can quickly move between audio outputs like speakers and headphones and adjust the volume of numerous apps.
