Microsoft has gone far beyond in driving out Generative Artificial Intelligence to consumers. It pledges to invest billions of dollars into OpenAI ChatGPT. The software giant continues to test OpenAI’s GPT-3 tech in the beefed-up Bing search engine to include the tool in the Windows 11 taskbar. Microsoft Office suite, including Word and the Edge browser, will get OpenAI’s GPT-3. While it guarantees maximum exposure to the technology, controversies regarding AI’s willingness for the general public continue to exist.
According to the media reports, the chat technology will go haywire surfaced after Microsoft integrated the OpenAI ChatGPT into its Bing. Although a Washington-based company named Redmond made some tweaks to the Chat program, it has largely continued with the course. The retailer platform, Shopify, has also begun turning to ChatGPT for its consumer app.
Snapchat
Snapchat is popular with teenagers. It plans to reveal a ChatGPT-powered chatbot. It will initially be available to subscribers who interact with a chatbot like a friend using the MyAI tab. Snapchat’s chatbot will be more restricted than ChatGPT, given the teenage audience. The app will tightly control the requests to manufacture inappropriate content or write academic essays. The retailer platform, Shopify, has also begun turning to ChatGPT for its consumer app.
The tech company has seemingly taken the pressure from Microsoft’s deals with OpenAI’s GPT as it announced Bard, a LaMDA-powered conversation robot that works similarly to a ChatGPT. Google said it worked with a small scale of its large language model to facilitate testing and ensuring Bard responses according to a high-bar quality in a veiled dig at Microsoft’s aggressive push.
The California-based tech company would roll out AI-powered features in its realm dominating search engine, but it has stayed vague on when and how it will do so. According to Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, the company must bring experiences rooted in language models to the general public in a much bolder and more responsible way.
Neal Mohan, the new CEO at Google-owned YouTube, says the company will offer Generative AI to creators to increase storytelling and promote their production value. However, YouTube took time to develop new features with thoughtful handrails.
Meta works with a more cautious approach to ChatGPT-like AI for its primary social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. Mark Zuckerberg said Meta created a product group to find new ways to turbocharge its performance. He noted that the company needed to do foundational work to do. Meta also unveiled LLaMA, a large language model. Researchers will use it as an open-source tool to enhance their performance.
LLaMA is less significant than rival AI models, allowing researchers to advance their work with more modest computing power.
Baidu
China’s online search giant announced the release of its ChatGPT rival Ernie Bot, aiming to use it in numerous services in search and cloud computing to independent driving. Following Baidu’s announcement, Alibaba also tested ChatGPT-like services through its research institute.
