It was in 2020 that Samsung returned to the laptop business and it has come up with extremely lightweight devices in the form of Galaxy Book 2 360 and Galaxy Book 2 Pro, but they fell short in terms of a few specifications. With the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360, it has stepped up its game in terms of specs as well. It is also a lightweight laptop-cum-tablet and is a spectacular piece of engineering.
Design and build
The Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 is about 12.8mm thick and feels quite robust. It feels like a regular laptop, despite the fact that its core design means that that you can flip the display and it goes back-to-back with the keyboard. As far as the hinge is concerned, you will find that it is an excellent piece of engineering and Samsung has upped the durability factor with this device.
It feels solid when you decide to use it as a tablet and the hinge also resists when you prop it up at a 135-degree angle. The Wi-Fi only variant weighs 1.66kg, while the 5G model weighs 1.71kg, which makes it quite light for a full-sized laptop. The Book 3 Pro 360 is available in beige and graphite, which are built with premium aluminum.
On the connectivity front, Samsung has ensured that the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 is not lacking in any way. The left side has two USB-C ports and they are full Thunderbolt 4 ports. There is also a USB-A port, an HDMI slot, a microSD as well as a 3.5mm audio jack. Just above the display, you will find a1080p webcam too.
Screen and speakers
The 16-inch AMOLED display boasts a refresh rate of 120Hz, which means everything will be silky smooth. The aspect ratio is 16:10 and the resolution is 2880 x 1800, which is certainly a big improvement. The colors pop really well and the brightness is also great.
As far as sound is concerned, there is a quad-speaker system, which is AKG-tuned, and has 2W tweeters and 5W woofers, along with Dolby Atmos support. It has a clear and crisp sound, but it does not have the same richness and bass that you can get from a MacBook Pro.
Specs and performance
13th gen Intel Core processors have been used for the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360, with 8 and 16GB of RAM. It is able to perform most tasks without breaking a sweat, whether it is 4K video streaming, emails and more. But, it is not a gaming laptop, which means that you will notice some performance issues if you are playing some newer titles.
Keyboard, trackpad and S Pen
A full-sized keyboard, including a numerical pad, on the Book 3 Pro 360 gives you a decent typing experience. The physical power button comes with a fingerprint sensor. As for the trackpad, it is quite large, but it is slightly towards one side, so it is a bit difficult to adjust to it. Plus, even though it is responsive, it tends to be a bit imprecise.
It is the S Pen where Samsung takes the cake, which is stashed on the lid when not being used. Its responsiveness and sensitivity is magnificent.
The Verdict
If you are looking for a 2-in-1 convertible that does not make a lot of compromises, the Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360 will do the job.
