Elon Musk has announced numerous changes to its paid subscription plan. These changes include the ability to upload videos up to two hours long as Twitter expands the previous one-hour limit. Twitter Blue page has also received some modifications, including the increased video file size limit from 2GB to 8 GB. Earlier, users could upload longer videos from the web, but now they can do the same via iOS apps. While Twitter announced the changes, it has not changed the figure of 108p, which represents the maximum upload quality.
Twitter has begun making many changes to facilitate lengthy video consumption and uploads since Elon Musk purchased the social network company in October 2022. It first introduced the long video upload option in December and then offered playback speed controls to web users. The feature allowed many users to start uploading long videos, including the All in Podcast episodes on the platform. It also compelled Tucker Carlson, who recently got his job terminated from Fox News as he now plans to have a new start with his shows on Twitter.
A New App Out of TwitterÂ
Elon Musk has always said he wants to develop an everything app from Twitter to compete with YouTube-like platforms. He keeps rolling out creator-focused tools to fulfill his desires. Musk raised the character limit to 10,000 for paid users, relaunched Super Follows subscriptions, and introduced text formatting support.
Earlier this month, Linda Yaccarino took charge of Twitter as the Chief Executive Officer. Musk will work as chairman and take care of CTO-like responsibilities, such as overseeing sysops, software, and products. Many studies suggest that over 60 percent of U.S. Twitter users chose to take a break from social networks for many weeks in the last year. The company also fiercely competes with numerous alternative social networks, including Bluesky, Post, and Mastodon.
 Picture-in-Picture Mode
The microblogging platform expects several additions in the upcoming weeks. They comprise forward-and-back seek buttons to allow users to playback a video in either of the modes for fifteen seconds. Twitter also rolled out a picture-in-picture mode to enable users to watch visuals when scrolling through their timelines. The Tesla owner announced these features in responding to a user’s request for the same on Twitter. He also confirmed the implementation of his announcement will begin the following week.
The Picture-in-Picture or PiP mode lets you keep watching visuals in a small window while navigating through other apps on their devices. With such enhancements, Twitter users can enjoy a flawless video-watching experience while navigating their timelines.
Twitter users have appreciated the forthcoming features as they had always wanted the new feature and felt missing. Some users expressed gratitude, saying they would skip visuals as it lacked the seek buttons. These comments included a humorously written comment on the similarity of the new features to those available on YouTube. They speculated about the possible consequences of cloning YouTube’s functionality and using AI assistance in coding.
